Director @frank_pickell and a nimble crew journeyed to Anchorage for Futuristic’s fifteenth project with GCI. As launch day approached, Mackenzie Banbury from @yuitcomms worked closely with the GFX and Color teams to create our feathery hero.
The shoot wrapped on Sunday…footage was uploaded from the field, and by Monday morning back in Denver, @trevormckenna had a rough cut ready for review. The final spot went live just five days after the shoot wrapped.

When I was in 8th grade, the outdoor education program at our school divided the class into small groups and everyone hiked over passes from Aspen to Marble. I remember it being a challenging and fun adventure that left an indelible memory in every kid that completed the trek.
With Rowan going into 8th grade this year, I wanted to recreate a version of that trip. I’m proud of this kid for leaning into the experience, pushing his boundaries, and banking some lifelong memories with me.
4 days, heavy packs, 26 miles, 12k passes, no screens, and not a single other human in sight for over 1.5 days. It was a banger.
