Sean Scully was Frank’s professor when he began studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Münich in 1998, and Sean has remained a mentor ever since. I must confess: this was the second longplayer i ever owned (sadly, it got lost in the meantime - don’t drink and DJ). It must have been around 1980... My father was commuting to Munich at the time, and l asked him to look for „that silver Kiss record“ in a Munich record store. I was thinking of Dynasty - which had a silver-grey printed border on the cover.
I simply didn’t know about Double Platinum. When he came home with Double Platinum, I was disappointed at first, but kept my disappointment to myself. I made a virtue of necessity and set to work conscientiously listening to the double LP and learning to love it.
