My fingers are literally trembling right now from all the love and support weâve received only 1 hour (!!!) into the Ravenous (@feedravenous ) subscriber drive. As a social media manager whoâs announced many launches, Iâve always supported othersâ creative projects and campaigns. This one is mine. And it feels so fucking good. đ
Iâm thrilled to introduce Ravenous (@feedravenous ), a worker-owned food culture media company. Iâm so honored to share this endeavor with my fellow founder-owners Amy McCarthy (@aemccarthy ), Jaya Saxena (@jayasax ), Ashok Selvam (@shokdiesel ), and Courtney Smith (@thecourtneyesmith ). While there are five of us who are the founder-owners, the dream of Ravenous was born from many. We talked to dozens of food writers, chefs, and restaurant lovers about what was missing in the food media industry. This project has been six months in the making, and Iâm so happy to finally share it with yâall. If you havenât already, please consider subscribing and donating. Link in bio đŠââŹ

Frances Dumlao (@francesdoingthings ), associate director of audience, tested several ramen recipes left by commenters on a recent social post, and this version stood out from the rest (shoutout to Maria Lentini). Ditch the seasoning packet and replace it with this flavorful ground pork with soy sauce and chile crisp for a satisfying weekday meal. And let us know: Whatâs your go-to ramen hack?

Alpine ski vibes, but without leaving the U.S. âïž
Our associate director of audience, Frances Dumlao (@francesdoingthings ), took us along on a cozy date night at Detroitâs Alpino (@alpinodetroit ), which is featured on our 38 Essential Restaurants list for the city. Inspired by the Swiss and Italian Alps, this spot serves up rich, comforting dishes that will make you feel like youâre in the mountains. Dumlaoâs meal featured decadent raclette on focaccia, buttery Piedmontese ragu, crispy pork schnitzel, and a showstopping flower-shaped fritter for dessert.
No wonder Alpino was named Best New Restaurant in 2023 by Eater Detroit. Tap the link in bio to check out more must-try restaurants in the Motor City.
