This pool house kitchen came together beautifully. We fell hard for the Taj Mahal quartzite that carried through the waterfall edge and slab backsplash. We loved how it plays off the plaster wall finish and warm wood tones ✨✨

Not white oak. 🪵
This is Sapele, often called African mahogany. Deeper, redder, harder, and rarely spec'd compared to the white oak we see on almost every project.
We sanded the floor back to raw and finished with Waterlox, a modified tung oil. It penetrates the wood and hardens within the grain instead of forming a plastic-like film on top. The floor ages with character rather than chipping or peeling, and when it needs attention down the road, you can spot-refresh without resanding the whole room.
