This is one of those projects where I'm kicking myself for not having a 'before' photo. Probably the biggest needlepoint we've worked with in a while (ever?). And boy was it skewed! Because of the fragility of the fabric and some pre-existing holes and mends, we were originally going to accept it as a diamond shape and frame it as it was. But after a few days of deliberating, we put two blocking boards together and slowly started blocking. It took a few days of gentle stretching, but we got it to straighten out in the end!
This was a customer's life work, a piece they had worked on for decades- and many a story held in the stitches. A beautiful cherry frame and museum quality acrylic will now house this treasure for many generations to come.
We're very thankful for the trust and patience of everyone who leaves their work in our care.

Ohhhh MAN we love to see a Mark Maggiori! We double love putting a Maggiori in a stunning silky smooth birds eye maple from Rob 💃
The birds eye maple pattern beautifully accents the exquisite detail of the Western skies. We also used optium museum acrylic to cut down on the weight of the frame, and ensure the piece a happy UV free, shatter proof home.
