Hi, I'm Floris😊 and welcome to my photography page!📸 A few years ago, my father and grandfather showed me the world of photography. Since then the passion grew and grew and I got hooked. What first started as a hobby, is now turning in something that I really feel passionate about. From starting to borrow my dad's camera here and there, to getting the old (award-winning) camera from my grandfather, to now having my own gear and only wanting more. From having my picture featured on the United Nations! website to already doing my first few official photoshoots, I can't wait to see what's next in store for me

@engelberg.titlis is one of my favorite spots in the #alps. Although the snow has not been ideal we have been making the most of AM piste laps with the packs and fat skis and PM off-piste adventures. Thank you @framesbyfloris for the shot! Enjoy what you do and ski all the snow conditions even if it’s not perfect we learn. Also there is a lot of turmoil and negative energy let’s try to enjoy all the moments we have because we are lucky to be doing this. ❄️🩵❄️🩵❄️🩵❄️ . . . . . . #ski #skiing #action #mountains

My favorite photo this year. I learnt from Don Weixl a long time ago that you had to smile in photos. And his tip was to grit your teeth. Pretend if you have to. 😬seems to work. Thanks to these people and brands for supporting me. That hip to snow carve isn’t just for show. It’s not about looking cool. It’s about using the ski design properly and harnessing the energy in the ski without blowing out. This pitch was steep. The snow was fast but grippy. We’d had a melt freeze cycle with 5cm of fresh groomed in. Ideal carving snow… but also high force snow. If the ski hooks up early on terrain like this, the pressure builds quickly. If you’re not aligned well fore and aft, or you’re not inclined enough, one of two things happens: You skid to dump the force. Or you accelerate more than you can manage. It actually took me a few runs to feel comfortable with the speed and forces before committing to angles like this. Now here’s the part most people miss 👇 High edge angles are not a trick you “add on”. They’re the result of a lot of foundations working together. If you’re chasing turns like this, here’s what really matters: • A very solid clean carved turn first. Both skis leaving clean tracks. • Upper body discipline. Quiet torso. Good hand position. • Excellent fore and aft awareness. The deeper you go, the easier it is to sit back and lose it. • Strength and mobility. Yes, that means gym work and range of motion work. • The right ski. Torsional stability matters on firm snow. • Sharp edges. If your skis aren’t tuned, this feels sketchy fast. For less experienced skiers, this is not something you just lean harder into. It’s something you build toward step by step. And for advanced skiers, higher angles are simply one tool. They serve a purpose on steeper, firmer terrain where you need grip and energy management. If you’d like to build toward turns like this, the real work happens behind the scenes with fundamentals. Balance. Alignment. Edge control. Equipment setup. That’s exactly what I focus on inside Big Picture Skiing. Not flashy outcomes. Solid foundations that make turns like this possible when the conditions call for it. Save this if you’re working on your carving. Share it with someone who thinks high edge angles are “just showing off”.

The window to the soul👁️ Between thousands of Blue-Eyed Cape Gannets, trying to get a shot of a single bird was quite the task, but I managed. With the right amount of patience, I was able to get this close up. With a close up picture of the eye, which I always try to get with animal photography. With my new @sonyalpha A7RV + Sony 70 - 200 2.8 II, I was able to get the most detailed shot possible. My absolute favorite and dream setup! • Sony A7RV • Sony 70 - 200 2.8 II • 1/1600 - F2.8 - ISO 160 #sonya7rv #sonyalpha #sony70200gmii #sonyimages #sonyphotography #sonya7rvphotography #kameraexpress #cameranu_nl #featured_wildlife #wildanimals #wildlifephotography #wildlifefotografie #wildlifeonearth #gannet #gannetcolony #southafrica #southafricatravel #lambertsbay #wildlifephotographer #natgeoyourshot #wildlifephotos #bbcearth

After spending a few hours looking at this beautiful Chameleon, he saw a cricket and flicked out his tongue with lightning speed. A split second to be able to take this photo and a bucketshot photo was completed! 🦎 • Sony A7RV • Sony 70 - 200 2.8 II • 1/1250 - F6.3 - ISO 1600 #chameleon #ongumabushcamp #ongumaprivatereserve #onguma #chameleons_of_instagram #sonya7rv #sonyalpha #sony70200gmii #sonyimages #sonyphotography #sonycamera #wildanimals #wildlifephotography #wildlifefotografie #wildlife #kameraexpress #cameranu_nl #natgeoyourshot #natgeo #nature #foryoupage #namibiatravel #namibia #wildlifeofinstagram

A Cape Sugar bird on a Protea at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town. @gioiamelis_art and I spend hours here looking for chameleons and snakes (and paid money to the garden staff for tips!😄) without luck, but luckily we did find some beautiful birds🐦 • Sony A7RV • Sony 70 - 200 2.8 II • 1/1600 - F2.8 - ISO 100 #sonya7rv #sonyalpha #sonyimages #sony70200gmii #sonyphotography #birdsonearth #birdsphotography #birdsofinstagram #kirstenboschbotanicalgardens #kirstenboschgardens #capetown #botanicalgarden #protea #southafrica #southafricatravel #wildlifephotography #wildanimals #wildnature #wildlife #wildlifefotografie

After a few weeks of being back from my second trip to Onguma, I finally find some time to look at my photos from the October photography trip to @onguma_safari_camps And again I had such an amazing time! Same place, different scenery. As last March was more green and wet due to the wet season, this time it was brown and dry due to the dry season. But even though it was dry, we were able to find this beautiful Chameleon 🦎 One of my favorite sightings! I want to thank @jjsnijders_photography and @nadiasnijders_photography for another beautiful trip to lovely Onguma! It wouldn't have been the same without them!😊 It was so good, that I will be going again for trip number 3!😉 • Sony A7RV • Sony 70 - 200 2.8 II • 1/800 - F2.8 - ISO 250 #ongumabushcamp #ongumaprivatereserve #onguma #onguma_safari_camps #safari #safariphotography #wildanimals #wildlifephotography #wildlife #kameraexpress #chameleon #africa #africanwildlife #natgeoyourshot #natgeo #nature #namibiatravel #namibia #photography #sonya7rv #sonyalpha #sonyimages #sonyphotography #sonya7rvphotography
