Unbelievably, the summer/fringe show in August will be The House of Smalls’ 30th exhibition, and I will try and do a retrospective type thingy of all the shows.
Coming up shortly is also the 2-year anniversary of relocating to Scotland and as I get ready for the 11th show here, I thought I’d add a little reminder of the exhibitions so far in the wee Edinburgh space.
Thank you so much as ever to everyone who’s supported me on this amazing journey, The House of Smalls couldn’t and wouldn’t exist without you.
❤️❤️❤️

Woody’s Bottom and Bass Rock
I’ve had an affinity with horses for the whole of my life, they and the sea are my safe and happy places. I can’t ride anymore due to back injury and pain…so I’m learning to drive instead. To have the company of a horse, the sea, and the wonderful Carol by my side today brought about a short period of peace that’s been missing for a while ❤️
And northern gannets have started returning to Bass Rock following the devastating avian flu outbreak a couple of years ago ❤️

Lovely to visit the Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park today and drop off the heron - thank you so much to Sasha for taking the time to meet me.
Currently closed for the winter, @thehuttshimalayangarden will reopen to the public on 2 April. It’s beautiful - a very accessible 45 acres of planted woodland gardens, 3 lakes and an arboretum, dotted with a huge variety of striking sculptures and enhanced by the sounds of wildlife.
Close to Ripon, Harrogate and Leeds.
(And although the sign on image one looks like it, it’s not superimposed 🤗)

Just messing with colour and perspective. Most of the photos are taken whilst travelling, either in a car or train, usually at speed, and always with my phone.

Absolutely over the moon that Harn has been selected by @thehuttshimalayangarden for their Sculpture in the Landscape Exhibition, between April - November 2026. Thank you so much 🥹
This piece was made without reference from the remnants of a bed and mattress found in the burning embers of a neighbour’s bonfire during one of the Covid lockdowns in 2021. It was made over the course of an afternoon and left without rework or varnish as a naive experimental piece, placed at the edge of the River Thames in the Cotswolds. It has lived outside ever since, and is now watching over our small Edinburgh flat garden.
The White-bellied Heron (Ardea insignis) is a critically endangered, large, dark grey bird, standing over 4 feet tall, native to the eastern Himalayan foothills of India, Bhutan, and Myanmar. With fewer than 250–400 individuals remaining, this rare species depends on undisturbed, subtropical riverine ecosystems. It is threatened by habitat loss, hunting, and infrastructure development.

Thank you so much to @ph21gallery for selecting my images, Going and Gone, for their curated international photography exhibition, Upside Down, at their beautiful new venue in the heart of Barcelona’s historic Gothic Quarter.
Upside Down will run between 7 February - 3 March 2026.
I’m so grateful to have now shown with @ph21gallery in Budapest, Rome and Barcelona 🩶
These photographs were taken on an iPhone during heavy autumn rains in the Cotswolds, UK. Rainwater was pouring from the roof of a garden shelter and the reflection within the droplet is that of sky, trees, and a flooded field. The thin sliver of light at the fore of the reflection is the River Thames, close to its source in Gloucestershire.

They’ve got him.
Thank you so, so much to everyone for your support, courage and bravery in telling your own stories on the previous posts and privately, wise words and for just coming together.
