Perth-bred, now Naarm-based WILS*RISH (@wils.rish ) steps up for the 9th iteration of the Fractal Tapes Podcast series. WILS*RISH had his early emergence in 2023, with releases being picked up onto USB’s by the likes of Jamie Jones, Skin On Skin, Lb aka Labat, TSVI & more. Pushing sounds of feel-good bass and percussive rhythms across the techno-baile, house and breaks spectrum, we see him having shared stages with industry heavyweights such as Mall Grab, KETTAMA, Effy & Darude to name few. His backing a class of royalty in dance. Here are some words from WILS*RISH about the mix: “This mix includes some of my favorite tracks at the moment, from quiet euphoria to breaks and everything in-between. Not everything has to be doof-doof heavy for an hour straight, from the jump of the set, and I’m on a mission to bring back in-between gems and slow burner club sounds that you can shake yo ass too. A lot of forthcoming tracks from myself as well, included in my upcoming EP dropping at the end of this month, 27.06. Love to Ned for having me on & get tapped in!” Enjoy! 📸 - @maxmembrey

After a 4 month hiatus, we’re excited to be returning with the Fractal Podcast series! To kickstart things off, we have Naarm / Melbourne-based DJ Renaessance. No stranger to the Melbourne and Sydney club circuit, Renaessance has made a name for herself by specialising in chuggy, club rollers within the realms of prog and tech house. Here are some words from her regarding the mix! “This hour was inspired by club nights where I’ve felt chained to the dance floor, it’s hit 2am and you really should go home but you just can’t leave. The mix launches right into the sweet spot of club satisfaction - the deep, driving basslines that made me fall in love with Australian prog and techno.” Enjoy!

Fractal Podcast 07 - Trustee (@trusteee___ ) For the 7th iteration of the Fractal Tapes Podcast, we are very lucky to be welcoming Naarm / Melbourne-based young gun, Trustee. In a short space of time, Trustee has successfully made a name for himself in the Naarm scene as not only an incredible selector in all things garage, breaks, UK funk, jungle and just about everything in between, but also an incredibly talented producer. Having released solo projects and a collaboration with fellow Fractal Tapes alumni Prizefight, Trustee’s technical ability is demonstrating knowledge and maturity well beyond his years. By playing numerous shows across Melbourne, Trustee is proving to be one of the most exciting talents to come out of Australia, and will be one to keep an eye on for years to come. Below are some words from Trustee regarding the mix. “This mix showcases the sounds and genres I’ve had the pleasure of exploring recently with tasteful wubs, big drops and bumpy flavours. From garage to dembow to breakbeat I’ve sprinkled in the tunes I’ve been working on and the ones that have inspired and shaped the sound I’ve been bringing to my sets. Huge ups to Ned for having me back at my home away from home at Fractal ❤️” Enjoy!

Fractal Podcast 06 - Charlotte Rooney Naarm / Melbourne-based DJ Charlotte Rooney (@char.rooney ) steps up for the sixth iteration of the Fractal Podcast! A regular at many of Naarm’s most esteemed clubs such as Xe54, The Gasometer and Revolver Upstairs, Charlotte has made a name for herself with her eclectic selections which are centred around Australia’s ever-growing prog, tech house and trance scene. Not for the faint-hearted, this mix encapsulates everything which makes this sound so great, and happily transports you straight to the bush for an utterly hypnotic journey. Below are some words from Charlotte about the mix: “This mix is a 2-hour curation of bush ready tracks that follow the theme: ‘from dusk til dawn’. I started with some bass-heavy prog to reign the night in, followed by a section of bouncey and playful sounds to entice the dancers. The mix ramps up into the night with some hypnotic prog trance and minimal techno, before settling into some percussive rhythms and a healthy dose of breakbeat. To ‘warm down’ the dancefloor and channel those sunrise hug-your-friends vibes, I chose a few house tracks with lots of synth and acid, being sure to give them space to breathe.” Enjoy! Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Finn Mcentee is a fast rising DJ / Producer who thrives on sounds surrounding all things Ghetto, house and techno. From a production standpoint, his sound is extremely recognisable, with his use of old school vocals and rough, pounding basslines. As a DJ, Finn pays homage to the sound of late 90s - early 2000s groove and techno. With his immaculate use of layering, Finn creates a relentless groove within his sets. Having already received international support on his productions, Finn is definitely someone to keep an eye on in the ever growing Irish techno scene and beyond. Enjoy!

Stepping up for the fourth edition of the Fractal Podcast is Eora / Sydney-based MASSI. One of Australia’s most technically adept and melodically talented producers, MASSI. has made a name for himself by exploring all facets of electronic music, such as trance, techno, electro, breaks, and even elements of trap and hip hop. From a production standpoint, he really can’t be compared. Additionally, as this mix showcases, his DJing ability is one which demands the attention of listeners. With his immensely captivating soundscapes and sonic ability, its clear that MASSI. is one that will be controlling dance floors and studio sessions alike for a while to come. Additionally, keep an eye out for MASSI.’s forthcoming EP on Fractal Tapes, it truly is one you can’t ignore. Here are some words from MASSI. regarding the mix: “The selection of tracks in this mix showcases a bunch of my favourite genres and sub-genres that I’ve been exposed to recently, whilst all being connected through the overall depth and tones within each record. I wanted to incorporate bouncy four by four tech with syncopated breaks through the beginning of the mix and then transition into darker and heavier grooves that have more space within their respective mixdowns. Then capping it off with some quicker trance-influenced beats that all have a sense of emotion and euphoria. As always I love to showcase various unreleased tracks from myself & friends and many of these are part of my forthcoming EP “End of Regulation” on Fractal Tapes which I’m very excited about. Much love to Mr Bennett for giving this EP a home, many more class projects to come on his label.”
