BERLIN - @gretagretagreta___ had moved relatively recently when we recorded this mix, but she is pretty much used to the 'big map change' 📍 Originally from Puglia, longtime Barcelona resident, now in Berlin playing and pursuing. This pick was live in early summer at @tsungel . Open air, but Baltic night - so cold at some point, like 8° and it was the very end of May. The light setup was very beautiful under the tent though, and the dark part of the night barely touched the dancefloor.

TALLINN - Heading north and cold for this first episode of Playing for the city. Still snowy. A place that means 'home' to all three of the bunch here, @gearmaster___ and myself.
So here we are at 2am, through 7h of continuous b2b in the night. Recorded live @ida.radio , and the start in October of an exciting season with @dublab.cat ❤️🔥🛰️

🌃 Playing for the city is on dublab BCN. Each episode invites a guest to create a club mix moved by what that place felt and sounded like - to them. It is both a rotating postcard and a musical memory archive. Here and there, with podcast interviews to guests you want to talk to. visuals @keidijaakson

depending on who you ask, I think the perception at the moment is that cities are either slowly dying, like a concrete coral reef, or that things are going absolutely swimmingly. totally anecdotal flash poll, so take it for what it is
cities today are under immense pressure, from finding or reasserting an identity (but how does this look like?), to costs, influx of people, and spaces - both public and private, squares and apartments - that feel ever so compressed, shrinking
and still, we live in these cities. today, 55% of the world’s population lives in urban areas, and it is expected to increase to 68% by 2050 (source UN). we also keep wanting to do so
all the complex feelings from living in cities, passing by cities, hating them, being in love, alienation with all the noise around, the warm afternoon light on a sunday
with one guest each month, club mix or podcast. 'playing for the city', on @dublab.cat
