At Fourth Plain Forward, we are proud to highlight the leadership and dedication of Angel(a) Jenkins, whose work continues to make a meaningful difference for local entrepreneurs and the broader community alike.
As Kitchen Manager of the Fourth Plain Community Commons, Angel has played an instrumental role in empowering local food businesses, advancing food access initiatives, and developing programs that center community through thoughtful leadership, strategic partnerships, and hands-on service.
Her work embodies the spirit of community-driven leadership.
Here’s a reflection from Angel on the purpose behind that work:
"As we move through this season of growth, I’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to plant seeds in people, businesses, and community.
Serving nearly 200 local business owners through the FPCC Kitchen has been one of the greatest honors of my work, and the reach extends far beyond the kitchen itself.
Through intentional partnerships, program development, and funding support, I’ve had the privilege of helping create initiatives that have provided over 3,000 free meals to under-resourced members of our community—because uplifting entrepreneurship and caring for people should always go hand in hand.
Every opportunity cultivated, every meal shared, and every entrepreneur empowered reinforces my belief that meaningful development is rooted in access, purpose, and care.
I’m grateful to do work that allows me to walk alongside local entrepreneurs while helping create pathways that pour directly back into the communities we serve.
The work may not always be loud, but its impact speaks
I thought I knew fruit… I ain’t know THIS 😳🔥

29 entrepreneurs. One goal: start or grow their food businesses.
Last night, local entrepreneurs joined our How to Start a Food Cart Business workshop to learn the real steps behind launching a mobile food business.
From understanding permits and health requirements to planning costs and pricing, participants gained practical guidance to move their ideas forward.
We were also excited to welcome a diverse group of entrepreneurs, including Native American, Native Hawaiian, Hispanic/Latino, African American, and Asian participants, among others from across our community.
The session was bilingual, delivered in English with simultaneous Spanish interpretation. Approximately 33% of participants were Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs.
This workshop was made possible through a partnership between Fourth Plain Forward and SCORE, with support from the @vancouverus .
We’re excited to see the food businesses that will come out of this room. #vancouverwa #vancouverwashington
Every bite was packed with bold spices and real comfort. If you know… you know.
