Most training leaves people tighter, stiffer, and more disconnected from how their body should actually move.
Our group training is designed to rebuild:
• Posture
• Running mechanics
• Mobility
• Coordination
• Strength that transfers to real life
Beginner or intermediate — you don’t need to be fit to start. You just need a body that wants to move better.
Limited spaces available in Dublin.

Check out a recent client testimonial from @paulchristin . Current HF practitioner soon to be Human Biomechanics Specialist, Paul has been training with me online over the last couple of years.
In this clip he excellently articulates some the benefits he has found using @functionalpatterns . A huge advocate for the system and all around top traininer, it has been a huge pleasure connecting with him.
We have had a very limited amount of sessions, one every couple of months, but even with limited contact he has made some great progress. This is more a testament to him and his ability to self improve than anything I could have ever thought him.
Credit to @theleverking for a creating a system that gives people the tools to truly begin to understand their body and make positive changes.
Paul is a great example of what an FP practitioner should be and I'm excited to see him progress even more when he enters the HBS curriculum.
Anyone in the Connecticut area be sure to look this man up.

People generally think about exercises being "good" or "bad", functional or not. @functionalpatterns what we understand a functional exercise to be is one that helps to correct imbalances on the body.
This means that alot of movements have the POTENTIAL to be functional, but only if you understand how your body is organised when you do them.
Most people have no idea how their body likes to behave because they don't seek out that information. A simple test like comparing a lunge set up on both sides gives a lot of information regarding that behaviour.
People don't love to accept this nuance because it means they cannot mindlessly do rep after rep of an exercise and tell themselves that the outcome is only positive.
If you want to understand the nuts and bolts you need to get properly assessed, and learn to interpret your body and what it does during movement.
Do this well, and correct imbalances over time. Do it poorly, and create more or compound existing ones.
If you feel like something is off but are not sure what, reach out and let us help you get started. Check the links in our bio.

Present and future staff training ✊️
At FP dublin we regularly hold staff inservice training to make sure we are continuesly upgrading our knowledge and application of @functionalpatterns .
These sessions are always extremely enjoyable for us and a great way to take stock and remind ourselves of why we are doing this. To help people understand their bodies more, and thrive in whatever they are doing without pain and injury.
We are assembling a great team here and are excited about what the future is going to bring. If you have been watching from a distance why not reach out and have one of our practitoners show you what it's all about?
Feel like your body is off but don't know why? This 3D scanner shows you exactly what's going on. Link in bio to book your scan.
Most people are walking around with imbalances they can’t see, and can’t feel clearly. That is until they start causing problems.
This 3D scan gives you a clear picture of what your body is actually doing, not just what you think it’s doing.
We use it as part of our assessments to:
- Identify asymmetries
- Understand movement patterns
- Pinpoint what needs to change
- Direct your training specifically to your needs
You can book:
• A standalone scan (20–30 mins)
• Or our full 90 minute assessment including gait analysis + scan with the scan at a discounted rate.
We always recommend the full assessment as posture is just a snapshot of what happens during movement.
If you've tried everything without success this is a great place to start.

Some clips from some of my clients’ sessions this past week.
Always putting in the work to help people make positive changes to their health and wellbeing. 🫡
It’s a collaborative effort though! I’m gonna do all I can to train my clients and teach them how to think and train themselves, while helping guide them through the process. But each individual has to be willing to put in the work on their own as well, and not be spoon-fed. 💪
When both parties bring value and effort to the table -> results are achieved 💯
@functionalpatterns all the way 🚀

PAIN-FREE IN HIS 50’s - CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
Jorge came to Functional Patterns Dublin in May 2024. He was experiencing pain in his right ankle, his left knee, his left shoulder and his lower back. He had been having these issues for the previous 2-3 years.
He tried lots of other physiotherapists to try and solve these problems but nothing ever worked long term. Within a few months he was pain free and then we continued to put the work in to improve his posture and his gait and make his structure stronger.
Jorge likes running for his fitness, but it had started to cause him pain. Now, he is able to run pain free again. His structure/posture is much more aligned and stable and this allows him to function pain free on a daily basis, even with his job and everyday tasks.
Jorge has been a great client and a prime example of what can be achieved when someone really wants to solve their problems. He is humble and always shows up to the sessions ready to learn. He asks questions because he wants to understand his issues and what he needs to do to solve them. He always trains hard and puts in the work and home so that he can continue to improve. This is the mindset that people need if they want to get results! 💯
Looking forward to making more improvements with Jorge 💪

JOINT PAIN AND EXERCISE
Joint pain and exercise have commonly been associated with one another, but this doesn’t have to be the case.
When you learn how to move in ways that distributes tension and pressure equally across your body it makes movement easy on the joints and ligaments while simultaneously improving your strength and functionality.
If you are feeling pain from exercising it’s likely stemming from a dysfunctional structure.
Focus on improving the FP First 4:
1. Standing
2. Walking
3. Running
4. Throwing
… in order to address your structure and you can exercise and be pain free.

This is my personal 3-year journey with FP so far.
Before functional patterns:
❌ Kyphosis
❌ Lordosis
❌ Knee valgus
❌ Rotated and compressed on the right side
❌ Lacking core tension
❌ Lacking mechanical propulsion
Thoracic back pain – 7/10
Right foot pain – 7/10
Right knee pain – 6/10
After functional patterns:
✅ Improved kypholordosis, better stacking
✅ Improved core tension
✅ Improved knee valgus
✅ Right side decompressed
✅ Better range of motion and mechanical output
Zero pain.
I started getting chronic pain in my back (thoracic region) when I was 16. By 20 years old, I had developed chronic pain in my right foot and in my right knee.
I spent an enormous amount of time and money going to physios/physical therapists, S&Cs, etc., looking for answers but never got any lasting relief or clarity as to why these issues were happening.
I had sort of accepted my fate and was just living with it by about 23. I had lost hope and felt let down.
By 28, the pain had become unbearable. I got to a tipping point and had to go in search of answers again. That’s when I found FP, and things started to change.
I started the 10-week course and also booked a session with my local FP facility, @fp.dublin . I remember getting a little bit emotional at the initial assessment, as I knew I had found the right place.
I made steady progress from the outset. Pain levels reduced all over my body, and I was able to enjoy the simple things again. Fast forward 3 years and I haven't had a niggle in my body for the past 6 months.
It might seem like a long time, but considering my starting point, I'm blown away at what functional patterns can do. So much so that I have since completed the 10-week, HF, and HBS1 courses and am committed to helping others avoid the same pitfalls that I went through.
I still have a lot of things to improve, but I'm excited to push the needle as far as it will go, and I am forever grateful to be living life pain-free again.
Thank you @functionalpatterns
Forever grateful also to @fp.dublin , @paul_o_gallchoir , @stephen_maguire , @tom_meade_ for all the knowledge, guidance, and support.
