Recently @fp.certified Human Foundations Practitioner, Carissa, shares how we helped her piece her body back together after struggling with Ehlers-Danlos Hypermobility Disorder, POTS, scoliosis, and several other conditions. Through the process of systematically restoring balance and efficiency to her movement patterns, she began to experience improvements across her entire physiology, not just in isolated symptoms. We get a ton of questions in our DMs asking if FP can help with this issue or that issue. And the answer is always the same: when you address the system, you address the symptoms. Whether it’s Ehlers-Danlos, thoracic outlet, back pain, ankle pain, or even something like eczema, these are all downstream effects of a body that’s not functioning in harmony. At Functional Patterns, we don’t chase symptoms. We go after the root cause by reprogramming how the human body moves and interacts with gravity. When the system begins to work as it’s designed to, the symptoms start to resolve themselves. Great by @_pablo_martin__ in teaching our recent Human Foundations course at @fp.santamonica #functionalpatterns #functionaltraining #fpcertified #humanfoundations

An incredible weekend here at @projectfunction.vegas for the Human Biomechanics Specialist Level 2 course. It was especially meaningful having @theleverking there sharing knowledge and perspective with the group. When you spend enough time around people who are truly dedicated to understanding human movement, you start realizing this goes far beyond fitness. It becomes a different way of looking at health, behavior, and responsibility. At the end of the day, we only get one body and one life. Most people spend years searching for shortcuts, temporary fixes, or ways to bypass the hard reality that dysfunction has consequences. What makes these courses different is seeing people from all over the world willingly take a hard look at themselves and decide to actually solve the problem at its root. Not cover it up. Not distract from it. Solve it. That’s what makes these weekends powerful. You have practitioners, trainers, therapists, parents, athletes, and everyday people all in one room learning how to better understand posture, gait, leverage, rotation, respiration, and the systems that govern human function. Then they go back home and help other people do the same. One of the coolest parts has been watching people return year after year. Their eyes change. Their understanding deepens. Their results improve. And as the system improves, the outcomes keep getting crazier. Better posture. Better movement. Less pain. Better athleticism. Better coordination. Better lives. As Functional Patterns continues to grow, and more @projectfunction facilities begin to spread across the world, people are going to start feeling the difference firsthand. You can already see the shift happening. More people are beginning to realize that training the body as one interconnected system produces a completely different outcome than treating it like disconnected parts. The momentum is building. And this is still only the beginning. #functionalpatterns #functionaltraining #fpcertified

Our @fp.certified HBS 2 is currently underway at @projectfunction.vegas We have a room full of dedicated FP practitioners from all over the world ready to go out and make an impact in the lives of others in the realest way possible. Many people talk about change but true isn’t just mental, it’s mostly physical. When you improve your structure, you’re improving your mental and physical environment. This is what leads to lasting change for the better. If you’ve been seeing our results and you’re tired of working hard but seeing no progress then it’s time to start your FP journey. #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #fpcertified #humanbiomechanics #functionaltraining

Most people don’t fail from doing too little. They fail from doing too much of the wrong things. Jeane came into this as a classic high performer. Executive level, structured, disciplined, the kind of person who wakes up at 4am because that’s what success is supposed to look like. Always doing, always pushing, always checking the boxes. From the outside it looks solid. Under the surface, things were breaking down. All that effort wasn’t moving her forward. It was wearing her out. Her doctor flagged declining bone density and put medication on the table. That’s usually where the story goes. More intervention, more management, more chasing symptoms. She didn’t take that route. Instead, she shifted her attention. Not to doing more, but to doing what actually matters. She started focusing on her structure, on how her body organizes under gravity, on how force moves through her when she stands, walks, and trains. Less noise, more signal. That’s where things changed. Her body started responding the way it’s supposed to when the inputs make sense. She didn’t just avoid medication. She improved her bone density in three separate areas. That’s not random. That’s what happens when load is distributed through the system the right way, when tension is organized instead of scattered. This is the part most people miss. They think results come from effort alone. More reps, more sweat, more grind. But if the structure is off, all that effort just compounds the problem. It’s like pouring force into a frame that can’t handle it. Something gives. Jean didn’t need more effort. She needed better inputs. When you clean that up, the body stops fighting you. It starts adapting in a way that actually holds up over time. That’s the difference between chasing outcomes and building them. Shout out to Jeane for sitting down with us after her @fp.certified HBS 1 course. Let’s go! This is only the beginning. #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #projectfunction #fpcertified #bonedensity

Staying in your comfort zone rarely leads anywhere worth going. But the real edge comes from knowing which discomfort actually moves you forward. Most people hear “get uncomfortable” and take it the wrong way. They push harder, grind more, chase fatigue, and beat their bodies up thinking that’s growth. It isn’t. That’s just noise stacked on top of dysfunction. Real discomfort is quieter. It’s calling yourself out on what you’ve been ignoring. Your posture when no one’s watching. The way your body moves against or with the force of gravity. The small compensations in your gait, your rotations, your breathing. That’s the work most people avoid because it’s precise and it requires attention. You don’t need to do extreme things to get ahead. You need to do the right things, consistently, and be willing to sit in the discomfort of changing patterns that have been running on autopilot for years. This is what @_michelle.johnson__ was talking about when she said, “get in the ring”. This is where everything opens up. When you start addressing what’s happening under the surface, your body stops fighting itself. Movement cleans up. Pain starts to fade. Strength actually transfers. Get uncomfortable where it matters. That’s how you build something that lasts. #functionalpatterns #fpcertified #fpisthestandard #humanbiomechanicsspecialist #personaltraining

There’s never been a more complete system for developing physical health than @functionalpatterns . Founded and developed under the leadership of @theleverking , this is a system built through years of iteration and pressure testing in the real world. With people dealing with the most severe forms of joint pain and movement limitations. The results continue to speak for themselves. Everything that’s truly useful in this world stands on the shoulders of people willing to challenge the status quo. Most systems evolve by building on what came before them. Functional Patterns questioned the foundation entirely. And instead of being replaced, it continues to refine itself. That’s the difference. It doesn’t follow where the industry is going. It forces it to change. And if we’re being honest, in the history of mankind, there hasn’t been a more complete approach to developing physical health. Another Human Foundations course is complete. Shoutout to everyone involved and to @fp.chattanooga for hosting. Now it’s time to put in the work and focus on making the necessary changes that lead to real results. #functionalpatterns #humanfoundations #fpcertified #functionaltraining

Here’s our full interview with Paul, a recent @fp.certified HBS1 graduate and 30 year academic research biologist who decided to apply first principles to his own body in his 50s. He shares what that process has actually looked like and what’s changed since. Appreciate you, Paul. Hope you guys enjoy the interview. #functionalpatterns #fpisthestandard #projectfunction #biomechanics #fpcertified

Every level sharpens the lens. What gets introduced in HBS 1 gives you the foundation, but HBS 2 and beyond deepen your ability to actually see what’s driving dysfunction and, more importantly, how to organize the body toward better outcomes. Better assessment leads to better application, and better application leads to more replicable results. That’s the difference between collecting information and developing true precision. When practitioners like @_michelle.johnson__ continue refining their understanding of biomechanics, force transfer, and structural organization, the results keep improving because the inputs keep improving. Better information, better results. #functionalpatterns #fpcertified #fpisthestandard #humanbiomechanicsspecialist #posture

This is your chance to get @fp.certified in Santa Monica, California. July 10th to 12th, 2026. Everyone who attends this course leaves with the knowledge and experience to begin transforming movement in themselves and others. You don’t need to be a trainer or therapist to attend. This course is open to anyone committed to building a deeper understanding of biomechanics and functional training. This isn’t a sit-and-listen type of course. You’ll learn how to assess movement with precision and make real-time adjustments to posture and coordination. You’ll develop techniques that improve gait, posture, and overall biomechanics, and walk away with tools you can apply immediately to reduce chronic pain, elevate performance, and reorganize dysfunction at the root. This course is not about memorizing anatomy charts. It is about learning how to organize the human body under gravity so it can move with efficiency and strength. Three days. In person. Knowledge you won’t find anywhere else. Day 1 Posture, spinal alignment, and building a core that actually supports movement. Day 2 Rotation and how it relates to how we walk, run, and throw. Understanding how force travels through the body when you walk and run. Day 3 Muscle and fascia training to build elastic strength that carries over into real life and sport. We are a results-focused system. No fluff. No guesswork. The only prerequisite is enrollment in the @10weekonlineprogram before applying. If you’re ready to raise your standard, join us in Santa Monica this July. Apply through the link in our story or visit the Get Certified page on our website. #functionalpatterns #functionaltraining #humanfoundations #fpcertified
