About the artist:
"My paintings explore my personal observation and reflection on the world around me through an almost mystic perspective- examining curiosities and fascinations while discerning real and lived experience.
I draw inspiration from mythologies that I find to tell very human stories, in an inhumanly digestible way, and narratives that traverse the why we are, what we are, and how we are.
In my artistic process, I ponder on these inspirations, using them to highlight what may seem mundane or even ugly, in a way that can reveal the magical and profound, through a distortion of varying imagery. I paint thinly, approaching oil paint with an almost watercolor-like technique to slowly carve out depth and form, while letting the inherent luminosity of the canvas seep through. I believe this light can be a language of its own, if you’re willing to listen.
In this exhibition I invite viewers to tune in, to contemplate the nearly fantastical elements of life and to sit with our fleeting experiences, pondering the numinous. Then ask the question. Did you hear it?"
