Ben + Danica
will be the first wedding we photograph this year. Last May we made these photos at Richmond Public Market. We pitched a couple ideas and we landed on this Wong Kar Wai inspired theme. Using the market as a backdrop and played with a lot of the textures and kindly asked the vendors if we could photograph their spaces that probably hasn’t changed all that much since the 90’s. This is definitely one of our favourite shoots to date. We love collaborating with the couples we shoot and try to make every idea they have come to life. Thank you Ben and Danica. And the sweet vendors of RPM.
Donnel later ran into Ben and Danica at a coffee shop and they had made our photos their phone wallpapers ! Shown in the last slide :)
Alongside weddings and portraiture we have also been fortunate to document some events at @luxeappliancestudio . This event in collaboration with landscape architect, Saba Farmand and his on-going initiative, East Van Boulevard Gardens. Since 2021 he has been organizing tours of the plots of land that reside between the road and sidewalk. Often times are just plots of grass, some residents have tended to them as flower beds and even spaces to grow vegetables. During these tours he provides education on why we should care about these gardens, what they mean for the health of our environment and well being and bringing awareness to nature and urban literacy.
The collaborative dinner inviting guests from all backgrounds in design. Chefs Janice and Chef Sean from @onovancouver and @reroot.kitchen prepared meals paired with @gaggenauofficial appliances reflecting the shapes, forms and textures of some of Saba’s favourite boulevard gardens!

With every package we include a complimentary engagement shoot. Whether or not you’ve had them done before, we encourage everyone to flex this offering. We like to use it to get a chance to spend time with you and your partner, get to know each other and get used to us holding the camera in front of you on your wedding day. If you happened to have done photos already we like to experiment and see if you’d be interested in more quirky and less traditional photos like these ones we shot of Mansur and Geri.
We knew upon meeting them they were big Magic The Gathering players and we wanted to include that in this shoot and mix it with traditional portraiture. We’re happy that we got to photograph something unique to them and a big and fun part of their relationship.

Too many great moments were captured on this special day with these two. We might need multiple posts to go through our favourites. We’ll begin, at the beginning. Pre-Ceremony shenanigans with the wedding party.
As soon as we entered the pre-wedding venue, laughter from both floors filled the space. The hallway crowded like a boys locker room surrounding Jacob as they all took turns jabbing jokes at him. Jacob emerges from the huddle with a big smile ready for his first pose and his third shot. We headed upstairs to greet Lanie and her glam team aka her sister and bestie were hustling and making sure everything was right to perfection. Jomar was able to capture a beautiful shot of her in front of the mirror. The two parties met in the living area with Jacob cleverly blindfolded to keep up with the wedding traditions.
The brides party, beautiful, elegant, classy as ever. And well, the boys, will be boys!

I (Donnel) had floated around the idea of photographing weddings a couple years ago. It was something I hadn’t done outside of close friends and family. I talked about it with Jomar and we both were in the same position on photography and what we wanted to do. Portraiture has been a big part of both of our work and second to that was people and relationships. It only made sense we got into this.
Our great friend and extremely talented photographer @briggsogloff recommended us to shoot Nahanni and Kaylie’s wedding.
They were the perfect first wedding for us. In all aspects, they were the coolest people, location was awesome, everyone looked beautiful. Here are some choice photos of the two! We’ll be sharing more moments of this amazing day.

Hello! This is Donnel & Jomar of Fourth Studio.
Fourth Studio is a creative duo threaded together by the purpose of creating images of joy. We have set out to break the mold. Reimagining how a portrait, wedding day, graduation, event, or family photo can look.
Over the years we’ve worked together on multiple projects. We’ve encouraged each other throughout our careers individually and share a lot of the same experiences and views when it comes to making images. We thought that we can apply the same care, knowledge and expression that we help companies and brands with, but instead with people who want to capture some of the most important moments of their lives.
We know that not everyone is a photography expert but we do know that everyone has an eye for what they like and what they find funny. They may not have the verbiage or ways to communicate what that is but that’s all a part of the process we take into consideration when working with people. We don’t want to just apply a generic filter on all your photos. It’s not about just taking great looking photos. We want you to see yourself, exactly the way you want to see yourself.
