Happy Mothers Day to our amazing Mum, sister, Grandma and Nanna. As well as all other incredible Mums who we are lucky enough to know and be able to call our friends or second Mums. These ladies are the backbone of our world, they are the glue that holds this crazy life we live all together. To our Mum, thankyou for everything you have done and continue to do for us. You will always be our inspiration. To our sister, we are in awe of you and can only dream to do what you are achieving in motherhood. To our incredible grandmothers, you have taught us resilience and shown us all what an amazing life we have ahead of us. And to everyone other mother we know and love, thankyou for everything ❤️

Yesterday morning we pulled the old little cement mixer out to level the bottom of holes we have drilled to put in a shed frame in order to extend the existing feed shed. We have decided to drop down the bay where the mixer will sit when being loaded into in order to make the loader not have to reach so far up to tip in. Lots of exciting developments around here at the moment! #beef #outbackqueensland #womeninag

When the alarm goes off and it’s still dark outside, you lie there wondering why you had to get up so early. But you drag yourself out of bed, get dressed, have breakfast, and get everything ready for the day ahead. As you drive to work, the sky slowly begins to glow behind you. You turn off the drive way and suddenly a spectacular show unfolds beside you. Moments like this are why we do what we do — so our future generations can experience these incredible views every single day. #womeninag #outbackqueensland #sunrise #beef

This past week I had a great day presenting at @macintyre.ag.alliance summit. I shared the importance of our family farm transition across the generations. I talked for an hour. Not hard for me but in summary: 1. Start early - Transfer skills and knowledge. Gate openers, machine operators, mechanics - so much to teach. 2. Respectful and open communication is vital - work on listening to understand not listening to respond. For us, regular meetings with agendas. 3. A set of family values helps guide decisions and emotions. Keeps the business of family and the business of business on track. Our top value - Fun and laughter. These live on our fridge and have become our team culture. 4. Take the time to understand what everyone wants and why they want it. Work towards alignment to find what ‘WE’ all need not about just the “ME’. Our 10 Year Plan. Roles and responsibilities - all clear. 5. For our family, farm succession is business transition over time. I was asked how I personally measure success. Simple for a Mum- happy family and respectful relationships. (Easy to say and a challenge to achieve) It doesn’t just happen, rather needs to be cultivated. Like all things in agriculture. A great day with other amazing speakers sharing knowledge that stimulated the thought processes. @cressy__ @macintyre.ag.alliance @farmsadvice @malindaguest @cogganfarms Jim Benson Transition Partners

@fourdaughtersbeef This International Women’s Day we are celebrating women who help shape life across regional Australia. Four Daughters Beef is a family story built on hard work, care for the land and the next generation growing up with it. Named for Bonnie, Molly, Jemima and Matilda, the brand reflects the strength of family, thoughtful farming and a deep respect for country. Raised among cattle, red dirt and wide skies, these young women represent the next generation of rural Australia. We spent time with the Penfold family in western Queensland to share their story, their vision and the life behind Four Daughters. Their story is one of family, purpose and the future of farming. 📸 @mrs_paulie_ Read the full story on our Life Out Here Journal. #InternationalWomensDay #FourDaughters #WomenInAgriculture #RuralAustralia

What’s been happening lately? Well a fair bit of this stuff! We are in the middle of some feed shed renos, put in new silos, fixing gear, laying a gravel pad for a cement batching plant and of course the never ending cattle work. We have been all hands on deck for the first two months of the year and it doesn’t look to be slowing down for a bit! Lots of exciting things happening around here this year. #fourdaughtersbeef #womeninag #beef #Australia

“I quit and I’m going dam building!” - Dad. After what we think is close to 15 years, the old scraper revved into life straight away. Pumped up the tires and put some new batteries in the old girl and Dad was remembering the good old days! Unfortunately she’s not going to work, she just had to be moved for more developments but was still good to see it go! #scraper #bigmachine #outbackqueensland #australia

With small staff you’ve got to have small gear. Seems hard to get good help though. Wal just keeps leaving his dump truck mid tip. #bushkids #dumptrucks #womeninag
