🔩 Foundry Townhall 🔩
Our recent Townhall was like stepping into a living, breathing community.
90 of us in a room — gathering to celebrate, support, and champion one another. A snapshot of what life at our home base looks like.
A highlight: the Foundry Food Fair brought home businesses supported by residents and partners @empoweredfamilies.sg and @riseandthrive.sg into the space. We got to hear their stories and taste their creations.
We celebrated wins of all kinds, including
🔸 @thetprojectsg and @withkita.sg attaining charity status.
🔸 @givehopesg raising $4.8M for Baby Faziq and Baby Ginny, enabling both children to receive Zolgensma, a gene therapy treatment for Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Residents also stopped by the flower bar by @tuftsandtendrils — supported by @riseandthrive.sg — to build bouquets for the mums and mother figures in their lives.
Small and big wins. Everyday moments of care.
Supporting each other through it all.
This is the kind of community we’re building at The Foundry. 🤍

Climate anxiety is real, and it’s not a personal failing — it’s a rational response to an overwhelming situation. But staying stuck in it doesn’t help anyone.
Our upcoming Lunch & Learn maps the emotional terrain between anxiety and agency. Bring your lunch, bring your feelings about the future.

🔩 April at The Foundry! 🔩
We created space to explore questions that matter:
How do we build with AI without losing what makes our work human?
How do we better support fathers, women entrepreneurs, and young people navigating mental health?
No easy answers. But lots of honest conversations.
Swipe to see what went down at our home basel 👉
Have a social impact event brewing? We’d love to host it.

🔩 Lunch and Learn 🔩
What if your board wasn’t just who you report to — but your most powerful strategic asset?
Not just a list of names, but a group that clears your path, opens doors, and sharpens your thinking.
At our recent Lunch & Learn led by @talenttrustsg , we unpacked what it takes to build a high-performing board.
It starts earlier than most think — at the cultivation conversation.
Before you recruit, get specific: your vision, needs and time commitment. Share with them what being an ambassador, helping with governance or strategic guidance actually means in practice. Vagueness now is a problem later.
Good boards don’t happen by accident.
They’re built intentionally.
More in May. Stay tuned!

🔩Foundry Fieldnodes #1: Scaling with Trust 🔩
Out of three sites, one stood out on paper. It had funding, space, and the structure.
But it didn’t last.
The other two had far less resources. Yet, they succeeded. The difference was trust — and a community that saw the work as theirs.
At Foundry Fieldnotes, Priyanka Handa Ram, Co-Founder & CEO of Learn to Play, shared about building early childhood programmes in Botswana.
One thing was clear:
Trust is not the outcome. It’s the condition.
You design for it from the start.
In Botswana, trust showed up in the invisible moments.
Parents who showed up consistently.
Youths who volunteered to clean parks without being asked.
A community that eventually advocated for its own school bus.
None of this is possible without trust that’s been built over time.
And that’s the shift: It’s not about scaling programmes, but scaling trust.
🌾Foundry Fieldnodes: where we make space to learn from practitioners as they navigate the often invisible but much-needed work on the ground.
More to come. Watch this space! 👊🏻

This partnership didn’t start with a pitch deck.
We quite literally had a chat over the fence.
When @conlo_sg set up next door at Sunshine Plaza, we got talking. They heard about the changemakers coming through The Foundry every day, and showed up with something tangible: community wheelchairs, available to anyone who needs them here.
Yesterday, we made the partnership official.
The Foundry exists because of people and organisations who believe access matters — to space, to movement, to community. Conlo gets that. We’re grateful to have them as neighbours and partners.
If you’re ever at our home base and need a wheelchair, just ask. It’s here for you.

Most spaces would have called pest control. We didn’t.
When Foundry resident @impartsg flagged a bee colony in their office, we shared it with the community.
Within 12 hours, resident @bettr.coffee connected us with beekeepers.
The next day, we had an assessment.
A few days later, thousands of bees were on their way to Mandai.
Residents reshuffled workspaces for a few days. No complaints, just support.
The group chat lit up. Bee puns, mostly.
@davidjusuf reworked our mascot in a bee costume.
Another suggested “Just Bee-cause” hoodies.
Fun fact: a swarm of bees isn’t chaos. It’s a colony in transition, moving together toward somewhere better — and they don’t leave anyone behind.
We saw a version of that play out in our community.
Our residents didn’t wait to be asked. Partners showed up before hours. A colony that could have been cleared out in minutes is now living their best life in Mandai. (And yes — we have honey 🍯)
That’s the kind of community we’re building. Not just when it’s easy.

What makes a story truly impactful?
“For Paul, My Baby”, an award-winning film from Inspiring Asia 2025, is a compelling example of how storytelling can bring deeply human experiences to life with sensitivity and emotional depth.
In the social sector, where lived experiences are often difficult to capture, video is a powerful way to bring impact to life.
@inspiringasia is a regional storytelling platform that celebrates impactful stories told through film.

Walls that tell the stories of our growing community 🎨
More than just art, our Foundry stairwell mural features the people who make this home base what it is. Painted by @murallingo and brought to life with the hands and hearts of our community, every face carries a story of connection, purpose, and shared impact.
We started with 14 resident organisations. Today, we’re 32 — and growing. And with that, the mural has grown too.
Now stretching up to Level 3, it continues to evolve alongside us, welcoming new faces and journeys into our shared story.
Catch a glimpse as you scale the stairs at our home base! 🏃♂️
