May 5 is Red Dress Day, a National Day of remembrance and activism honouring the lives of Missing and Murdered Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People. We recognize the importance of the 231 Calls for Justice from the National Inquiry - demands for real, systemic change to protect Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people. The Calls for Justice remind us that action must happen at every level, within our systems, our communities, and ourselves. We all have a role in listening, learning, and standing up against violence. Today and every day, we honour their lives by continuing to push for justice.
