One thing I think people are seriously sleeping on about Taraba State is how it feels like an entire country hidden inside one state. This is the first time I truly paid attention to Taraba, I realized it carries almost everything people travel across Africa to experience — mountains, waterfalls, wildlife, rich cultures, fertile land, and peaceful landscapes that don’t even look like the Nigeria most people imagine. Yet somehow, it’s still underrated. What amazes me most is Mambilla Plateau. Standing there feels unreal. The weather is cool, the hills roll endlessly, and the clouds sit so low it feels like you can touch them. Honestly, if that place was in another country with aggressive tourism marketing, it would probably be one of Africa’s top eco-tourism destinations. Taraba is one of Nigeria’s quiet masterpieces — the kind of place that surprises you because nobody prepared you for how beautiful it really is. Ya Subhanallah!!!!! I miss it already 😪 😢 #travelwithmcashrafandfriends #mambillaplateau #letstourtheworld

Some journeys are planned 🧩 others are destined. On our way back from Mambilla to Gembu, we met Alhaji Muhammad Admar, a young NYSC corps member, riding not just a bike, but a story. From Yola to Jalingo, stretching close to 400 kilometers, all the way home to Gembu. No convoy. No noise. Just courage, purpose, and an unshaken connection to home. In him, we saw something deeper than travel. We saw belief. He spoke of Gembu not just as a place, but as a feeling, cool, calm, untouched, and waiting. He reminded us that Nigeria is bigger than our routines, richer than our assumptions, and more beautiful than what we’ve settled to see. Sometimes, the real ambassadors of tourism are not campaigns or billboards… but people. People who move. People who return. People who carry their roots with pride. This journey with MC Ashraf & Friends to Mambilla Plateau is not just about destinations, it’s about encounters like this. Moments that quietly challenge you to go further, see more, and live fully. Because the truth is: The road to discovery is not always comfortable… but it is always worth it. Travel deeper. Explore wider. Nigeria is calling. Cc: @mcashrafandfriends

Highland Tea Farm, located in Kakara on the Mambilla Plateau (near Gembu, Taraba State), is the largest tea plantation in West Africa. Spanning over 615 hectares at an elevation of more than 1,400 meters, it is owned by the Taraba State Government and produces premium Highland black and green tea. What makes it even more fascinating is the tea shrub itself with a lifespan of up to 150–200 years, a true testament to nature’s resilience and longevity. #travelwithmcashrafandfriends #letstourtheworld #mambillaplateau

Gurgu Market, Mambilla Plateau Taraba State 🇳🇬 Hidden in the cool highlands of the Mambilla Plateau, Gurgu Market reflects the quiet strength of rural life. Here, farmers and traders gather in a simple but meaningful exchange fresh vegetables, grains, and dairy products moving from hand to hand, from farm to table. #tourism #mambila #taraba #yeskoshot #travelwithmcashrafandfriends

Mambilla is not just a place you visit, it’s a place that resets you. It teaches patience, appreciation, and a different pace of life. * The weather (it gets cold — unexpectedly cold) * The roads (not the smoothest journey, be prepared) * Network issues (disconnect to reconnect) * Power supply (manage expectations) * Essentials (carry what you truly need) It’s beautiful, but it’s not luxury. Come prepared both physically and mentally for the journey, not just the destination. #travelwithmcashrafandfriends #letstourtheworld #mambillaplateau
