The best part of this job is getting to take a blank canvas, and colour all over it. There is never a shortage of new ideas and techniques that I want to try., and creating something totally unique and from scratch is a welcome challenge. Today a further extension of myself has been launched with my design partner @cathrynroyerdesign@studiobonnieyyc serves as a creative concept space where we can play out all of our ideas. From our sample library to all of the exciting bespoke home goods that we have created and collected, it feels like a medley of our tastes, swirled into the most beautiful technicolour dream.
So much fun I can’t even take it, this week the kitchen takes shape, can’t wait to see it all come together. The kitchen is what really set the tone for all of the colours and it will pull it all together. And then for all of the layers.

We’re taking a very builder-grade, gray-washed home and turning it into something with depth, warmth, and personality.
Instead of default finishes and safe neutrals, we’re layering colour, texture, and thoughtful details to create a retreat that actually feels like a departure from where we started.
I’ll be sharing the transformation room by room — breaking down what we’re changing, why we’re changing it, and how small shifts create big impact.

So much thought, countless visits to Analin Decorating Centre with Nick, have led me to the selections you see!! It’s almost like a guessing game because there are multiple directions in each shot that I was waiting in balancing on my journey to decide what would be the right paint colors. Over the coming weeks the millwork will be created, and I can share more as the project progresses.
When you are looking to create a home with as much colour as I am, there are many considerations, or you will end up with a literal clown house.
