We 💙 BE Climate Week!
Our climate tech and sustainability showcase featured innovative research and student org projects focused on sustainability. 🌱
It’s inspiring to see #BaskinEngineering students using engineering for social good!

Reminder that Formula Slug’s 1st annual Open House is happening in 3 DAYS on February 28th from 1-5pm at Baskin Engineering at UCSC.
This Open House is an opportunity for families, alumni, sponsors, industry partners, and anyone interested in seeing firsthand the engineering, professionalism and teamwork that drive our work here at Formula Slug.
We have an exciting day planned with presentations from team leadership and alumni, panels from each subteam focusing on their work over the course of the year and guided tours of the Slugworks Spaces that our team uses to turn our designs into reality.
Spots are limited, so please RSVP in our bio.
We hope to see you there!

Earlier this month, the team members that built the FS-3 got a chance to drive it at Blue Max Kart Club. With thousands of hours put into the design and manufacturing of our 2024-2025 car, our team ensures the reward of that hard work can be felt first hand by the very people that built it.
We also want to thank all 1,010 donors from Giving Day back in November. Regardless of your contribution, your support will be, and is, integral for the success of FS-4, just as it was for FS-3. It means a lot to see the motivation and support that we get from our community, giving us the chance to do real engineering and succeed.
Stay tuned to see what 2026 has to bring!

Zoom, Zoom. 🏎️ 🏎️ Look at these rockstars!!! Three cheers for UC Santa Cruz Formula Slug, who finished Top 20 out of 120 teams at the annual Formula SAE International Electric Vehicle competition.
FS-3—Formula Slug’s third-ever competition car—was 100% student-run, student-led, and supported by Baskin Engineering.
The team also passed every technical inspection, competed in every event, and placed 3rd in Efficiency after only passing mechanical tech last year. TLDR: Formula Slug CRUSHED this competition.
With FS-4 and the upcoming season, Formula Slug is coming back faster, stronger, and aiming even higher. We can't wait to see what y'all do.
