🔡 Piero di Biase (@pierodibiase ), graphic and typographic designer and founder of Formula Type (@formula.type ), is coming to Elisava!
His talk is titled ‘Expert Beginner’ and it flips the usual negative connotation of the term: for Piero, ‘expert beginner’ is like a fun oxymoron, someone who has acquired enough experience to confidently handle everyday tasks, while continuing to explore the deeper aspects of their field. This simultaneously reflects, as Piero explains, his career in typographic design: self-assured, but aware of how much there is still to learn.
Formula Type is a digital type foundry that combines past and present without any real separation. Its typefaces are created with a flexible designer’s eye, evolving over its 15-year history.
