This post is like 3 days late because between work and processing the fact that I finally won my first throwdown, I’ve been insanely overwhelmed.
I’ve been going to throwdowns for 7 years and this was the first time I poured where I was proud of just about everything I poured.

To break down the new scoring system, we’ve got our esteemed judges:

Here’s how it works:
👉 Every competitor gets a scorecard.
👉 Each round is graded.
👉 First to 2 points moves on.
👉 If you don’t hit 2 points, you’ll get your scorecard back with a clear explanation of why your design didn’t advance.
The goal? Accountability. Transparency. Growth for the community.
These are our judging criteria for 2026, designed to grade pours quickly, clearly, and fairly:

• Is it recognizable?
• Distinct layers/tiers?
• That wow factor 🤯
2️⃣ Execution
• Milk texture
• Line clarity
• Layer manipulation
• Color distribution
• Symmetry (when applicable)

It took me forever to go through all my pictures from 2025 to be able to compress it down to a few collages. (I duplicated one pic of Rob and Ziah but it’s a great picture so I’m not changing it)
This year has been insane. I feel like I was so unprepared to handle this year and somehow I made it through. I fell flat on my face and failed a few times, but I picked myself back up and learned a lot, very much with a lot of help from my friends.
I traveled the country, visited Portland and LA for the first time! Got to go to Orlando (it was my favorite trip probably). I competed in @coffeefestshow TWICE and made it to day 2 for the first time! Competed in @floridacoffeeculture and also made it to the second round!!! I took second place at 3 throwdowns this year, and 2 of my friends/coworkers won their very first throwdowns!!!!
This year was fully enveloped by latte art and friendship, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
2026 better look out because I’m ready for whatever it throws my way, and am excited for what is to come :)
Also I couldn’t tag everybody in all the photos bc I ran out of tag space but that doesn’t mean I don’t love you 💖
