for me, 2025 was a year of transition from longing to clarity. when I first moved to chicago last year, the only souls I knew were my partner @delaneyferrer and my friend @groovy.moosh . I knew that the deep history and incredible talent in this city would drive me to be a better dj than anywhere else. but I quickly learned the importance of community, friendship and trust, and how central those things are to getting any sort of momentum toward my dreams. great things don’t happen without great people to support you. so I spent the first few months learning about the city and longing for a space to get started. it wasn’t until @flowchicago_ , @flowcollectivechicago , and @chicagoflowstar offered me an opportunity to dj their first chicago flow jam that the transition toward clarity began. the loving energy and people-first community they curated was something I could feel within the first five minutes of playing. I quickly knew that I would find my people here. since then, I’ve played 15 events, self-released my first bit of original music, doubled my following on here (cringing typing this bc metrics are stupid but it’s worth mentioning), and can confidently say that I’ve found my people. this was also a year of learning what it means to dj in chicago, a city that has protected the energy of its dance floors for decades. while I was blessed with the opportunities to perform, I also spent a lot of my time immersing myself in various dance floors — often times on my own — just losing myself as one in the crowd. it was through this that I learned what I want people to feel when they come to one of my shows. I’ll be damned if you haven’t broken a sweat by the end of one of my sets 💞 TL;DR… as we continue to build something here and grow this project together, my vision for this thing has only become more clear. more on that very soon. but rest assured, the dance floor will always come first for me, and I hope to continue gaining your trust and proving that over the years. see you in the dance in ‘26 🪩 - forem
