Our sweet Solana has been at the Espurresso Cat Cafe for over 3 months. But she hasn’t gotten any applications 😳 We can’t believe it. She is the sweetest girl! Solana is just over 1 year old. Our sweet Benny finally got out of the cage and into a foster home!🏠 He is so happy to have some freedom, he is already starting to play 🥹 This is a short term foster for only 1 month. Yesterday was Mother’s Day. And we hope all the mamas and kitty mamas out there had a great day! 🌺 Big shout out to Gracita, a mom herself, who spent the morning trapping in Jamaica, Queens. Even though she should be enjoying a relaxing day for herself, she was still out there trying to make the world a better and safer place for the cats in her community 🙏 Well one of the cats had a surprise for her. She decided to give birth in the trap 😩 Gracita now has two nursing moms with litters of babies and we need help! 🆘 We need fosters and we need volunteers. 🖤 Mother’s Day looks different for everyone… even for cats. 🖤 Right now, we have so many beautiful black cats waiting for homes, and heartbreakingly, they are often the last to be chosen. While kittens and lighter-colored cats are adopted quickly, many of our black cats continue waiting quietly for someone to finally see them. Because they are not getting adopted, many cannot move into the café space where more social, adoptable cats rotate through. They remain in foster care or waiting situations much longer than they should. And the truth is… they are some of the sweetest souls we have ever rescued. This Mother’s Day, we’re thinking about all the mama cats who protected these babies outside on the streets. The mothers who searched for food, kept them warm in the cold, and trusted humans enough to let us help.
