It was a long 20 hour day at work, but the day was still awesome. Highlights definitely include catching up with all the other bands and crews on the festival and obviously the show itself.
Second show of the tour and the first festival of the year was a success. Tonight we’re in Madison, WI for show 3.

After months of preparation…from hundreds of hours of programming at home to tech days and band rehearsals in Nashville, and then full production rehearsals in St. Louis…the first @shinedown show of 2026 was a huge success!
Today is a half day off and then on to headline @sonictemplefestival tomorrow with our friends @staindofficial@halestormrocks@stpband@daughtry@hindermusic@buckcherry

If you want to get one of these picks, you must come to the shows! These go on every single guitar and will spread out on multiple mic stand locations on the stage!
If you somehow see me or catch me in passing at the venues, I always try to carry a small handful of picks in my pocket throughout the day to give to the small kids and younger fans.

I’ve been a touring guitar tech for 25 years now…I have more behind the scenes and tour stories that could definitely fill several books by now 🤯!
One of my all-time favorite memories on tour was working with @smashingpumpkins and having @themightyi and the High Flying Birds supporting.
Not only did I get to meet Noel Gallagher (who is one of the main reasons I discovered my love for guitars), he was gracious enough to sign and personalize my 🇬🇧 @epiphone Sheraton.
Gem Archer asked to demo my (at the time, still prototype amp) Foppstar Amps Los Dos 2 watt head and cab.
I got asked to repair one of Gem’s main amps that went out at sound check and help teach some of the other awesome techs on tour how to approach amp repair on the road. Had the amp back up and running before their set 🤓!
And I was also lucky enough to physically hold and play some of the most iconic and vintage @oasis guitars/gear they had out on the tour as well.
Life is strange indeed. One day you might feel beaten down and even question your chosen path in life. Then, the very next day, you might have some new life experiences that are so grandiose and epic that no one would ever believe them unless they were actually there or someone happened to take photos to document these once in a lifetime moments!
What a life indeed. It’s incredible to me all the places life has taken me just from always being a nerd and fixing guitars and amps for a living 🤓🎸❤️! There’s no other job I’d rather have in the entire world.

As a parent, it’s tough knowing your kids will always grow up faster than you can ever imagine. One day you’ll blink and your little ones that you used to be able to pick up with one arm are all of a sudden teenagers and in high school.
Never take today for granted, because tomorrow is never guaranteed!!
