We think Foolproof Brewing Company is just as excited for this partnership as we are! So what does this even mean? When Foolproof brews, a byproduct is the spent brewers grain. Previously they were discarding it until they found us and reached out!
Now once a week we head to Foolproof Brewing and load up with their spent grain from that week and bring it home for the cows. This grain will help offset our feed costs some. We are able to feed it to the milk cows, which helps them nutritional produce milk. We are also feeding it to our growing heifers. So Foolproof is helping feed todays milk producers and our next generation of producers. As they expand their output we will be able to expand our use of this grain to dry cows, chickens and possibly the goats.
It’s is an amazing partnership between two Connecticut businesses and truly shows how cows are the great recyclers!
So now you can feel even better when you enjoy a cold one from Foolproof Brewing knowing you’re also helping feed the cows at Guardians Farm!
