Some clips from my @relate.radio recording <3
Travelling 5 hours back and forth from Maastricht doesn’t always feel that rewarding, but when you get to share music and also spend time with lovely friends in Groningen, it definitely is.
Full recording in bio, enjoy :)
April Foöl’s mix, I know this is techno cultural barbarism so don't take it too seriously, as some of you who know me personally may know, I like crossing the boundaries hahahahah.
PS: Born to Be Alive is niet van de Village People
Reminiscing about my opening set for Rene Wise 2 weeks ago at @muziekgieterij.midnight building it up with ambient, minimal house, and dub techno all under 130 bpm, easing the crowd into the right vibe. Great to see the floor fill up so quickly and familiar faces lighting up <3
Next up, this Friday 00:00–01:30 @landbouwbelang for @koudvuur.collective expect peaktime energy with some classic 'koudvuur' curveballs

Last Saturday, I played a set for @__continuity__ at @open_source_radio . Here are a few snippets of some of my favourite moments from the set; the full recording can be heard on my SoundCloud. I notice that I’m much more self-conscious during livestreams or recorded sessions than when I play on a dance floor. Without an audience, the focus shifts entirely to the listening experience, which often triggers my perfectionism, causing me to overthink and make more mistakes.
At first, I didn’t want to share this set because it felt quite messy at times. Things don't have to be flawless, but I notice I tend to hold back when things don’t yet feel where I want them to be. There are some mistakes in here, some sloppy beatmatching and even a few out-of-key mixes. Sharing this feels like a small step toward letting things exist as they are. Vinyl sets will never be “perfect” and neither will I, and that’s exactly where the beauty lies. <3
Time for a yappa yappa recap from last saturday 📷
Big thanks to @alu.rsa / @moes.music for inviting me. The past weeks I was not at my best. I had been sick for almost two weeks and felt mentally exhausted, on top of trying to keep all the balls high while now running @stiltecoupe_ fully on my own. With little energy to practice, the idea of a three hour set felt overwhelming. That is where the guilt crept in, because I know how lucky and privileged I am to even get these chances, yet I still found myself dreading a gig instead of looking forward to it.
Once behind the decks everything shifted. Starting with ambient and house around 128 BPM while the room filled gave me space to settle in, and as the energy rose it felt natural to push more into electro and techno. Always nice when a crowd is responsive to more than just straight 4x4 techno, it gave me the confidence to let go and fully enjoy the ride.
Forward to slide 6 into some vinyl brotherhood with bigger souls than bags. An honor to share the decks with my brothers @roboith@ro_kko_ and @marco_traffk on this vinyl only night.
Nights like these remind me why I love doing this, even when the lead up feels heavy.
Now onto Stiltecoupé this Saturday for a long awaited b2b with my good friend @waxdiva_
Spending some time wandering through Norway and had a beautiful weekend at Monument Festival 🌲 Feeling grateful to be doing three gigs this month and to come home inspired.

🔹 23/08 — 3-hour set at @klubcafebreda / @alu.rsa
🔹 30/08 — @stiltecoupe_ b2b with @waxdiva_
Looking back with a big smile on my first electro set (and most definitely not the last) I did for @koudvuur.collective in my hometown ❤️. Meant a lot to be able to do this in front of this lovely crowd for the first time. Let's do it again some time soon shall we?
On the road to becoming a more well-rounded DJ, I’ve been challenging myself to explore slower-paced sets (around 123-128 BPM for this one). This improv recording turned out quite nicely, even though my brain usually decides to stop working the moment I hit record (although I will never really be content as a perfectionist).
Starting with ambient , it transitions into dub, tech house/minimal techno, and rounds off with some more 'serious' techno and electro Full mix on my soundcloud
Rather late but nontheless worthy recap to the set I got to play during the Vinyl Market at @vault_sessions open decks. I initially didn't want to post anything at all as I wasn't happy with the end result/ live performance and chose not to upload the set for that. The cons of a overly perfectionistic brain 🫨. I realised that this is part of the process of being an artist and there is no perfection without imperfection. Hereby some clips. Thanks to @levelsnotavicii for the beautifull pictures and @izzyshlizzy for the clips <3.

Originally from Maastricht, Foöl embarked on a new sonic journey nine months ago, transitioning to a focus on vinyl with an unquenchable thirst for discovery. Since then, his
collection has grown into a diverse array of sounds, with each record carefully selected to push the boundaries of his sets. A music lover at heart, Foöl is always in pursuit of the unexpected, seeking out records that offer a fresh twist on the familiar.
Foöl has deeply woven himself into the fabric of Amsterdam’s techno scene, not just as a DJ but as a visionary. Co-founding Stiltecoupé and serving as its curator, he has been instrumental in shaping a community where the traditions of techno are reimagined through a lens of inclusivity and forward-thinking creativity, providing a platform for new talent and established artists to come together in a celebration of sound.
In his DJ sets, records seem to talk to each other, creating a rich tapestry of movement and rhythm. Foöl’s selections, consisting mainly of tracks from the 90s and early 2000s, are a testament to his relentless search for hidden gems, always striving to surprise and move the dance floor. Trying to choose tracks that stand out but also harmonize with the others, building moments of conflict and resolution that enhance the overall narrative. The ebb and
flow of tension and release nsure that his sets are both surprising and deeply immersive experiences, where harmony emerges from the interplay of contrasting elements, keeping the audience enthralled and engaged.
BASIS Debut recap ⬛
Feeling extremely grateful for the chance to perform at BASIS and for the amazing support from my friends and the crowd. It was a full circle moment to perform in a club where I first discovered my love for techno about two years ago. Proud to say I made my debut here just eight months after transitioning to playing vinyl. It certainly was not a perfect set and I know I can always do better but glad with the progress I have made. I have been struggling with my mental health quite a bit lately and these moments give me reassurance that this is what truly makes me happy and what I'm supposed to be doing. As soon as the first record plays, I lose myself, my worries and become one with the music
Special thanks to the @clubbasis team and @delano.legito for this incredible opportunity and a honorable mention to the boss @slin_dj for the insightful tips on the setup/sound of Basis.
