P.S. We are taking a winter break this year to reset. The shop will be closed 1/8 - 1/15. Will be back at it on 1/16!
Reluctant shopkeeper on the grid for the algo, some new finger razzle-dazzle in the sun, a perfect study of a very chiseled man, not enough people own a belt, the stationery section that keeps growing, a coupla sailors at “Mario’s,” and our favorite spot to sit at home and talk about the shop and our dreams for it still.
When we were getting ready to open, somebody told Sam that we would have to “sell things we didn’t like” in order to make it. That mindset is wild to us. We’re not trying to top any list, cater to a certain person, or have the most of whatever. We’re just over here mindfully curating our little space with things we love in our blink-and-you’ll-miss-it town, and hoping you’ll love it too so we can keep the neon lit for another year. Come by sometime; we’d love to show you around.

Sweaty honky-tonk nights making the heart sing, summer drives to grab a cone, snappy dog of dreams all sandwiched between shop days filled with good things and even better people. It’s nice.

Shop views looking cute, a portrait feeling all the feels in the morning light, sunshine cowboy do a diddy giddy-up pardner, endlessly saying “they don’t make ‘em like they used to”, considered collecting Bakelite dice, one day I’d like to hit that damn jackpot, “The earth laughs in flowers” - Ralph Waldo Emerson, collecting good vintage from good people continues and highly recommend finding a friend who will not hesitate to order all the desserts on the menu.
Bootleg Snoopy pre raw food diet and botox, she never really was that bad then or now, how does one live without coffee…that’s rhetorical, pretzel hugs can really turn a bad day, good hats with dried flowers in contained spaces, sweet alter musings, holiday windows are kinda the best part of it all, unearthing and falling back in love with collected drawings, forever rooting for the underdog, the importance of getting lost in bookshops and looking out the window my heart does a dance.
Embracing the wabi-sabi, the most perfectly worn in and patched up 1960s Redlines, diners are a love language, hanging clothes for the birds to inspect, diamond and gold stacks on stacks on stacks at the thrift, crazy cat quilts, late bloomer, wine swirl club, yee-haw giddy-up boot scootin’ boots and the moon smirking like it’s about to be up to no good.
