This page from my devotional yesterday (swipe to read) really stayed with me. If you've been following me for a while, you know this is my topic/my zone 😄
One of the most profound lines for me was this: “You can only develop the talent you have, not the one you want. But when it comes to your character, you must never stop working on your areas of weakness.”
That is such a powerful distinction and I am not sure many people really process this distinction....
When it comes to calling and purpose, God did not ask us to spend our lives chasing gifts that were never assigned to us. We are called to recognise, develop and maximise the ones He has given us. Too many people live frustrated because they are focused on somebody else’s instead of stewarding their own.
But character is different.
For character, we do not ignore our weak areas and say “that’s just how I am.” We must intentionally work on them because they can actually, for lack of a better phrase - take you down! Calling and character must grow together.
Develop your strengths to fulfill your purpose and be ALL God created you to be!
But work on your character weaknesses for who you are becoming, because your gifting may open doors, but your character is what will sustain you, keep you, and carry you through them.
Never forget that weak character cannot sustain strong gifting for long...
What is Authentic Leadership?
We asked @folusog in the ACW Rapid Fire Q& A and she gave us four insightful points on authentic leadership:
1. Leading as your true self.
2. Embracing your strengths and openly acknowledging that no one is perfect.
3. Building teams and communities where everyone’s unique strengths have a place.

I was having a conversation with a friend about how, as adults, so much of what we desire sits on the other side of sacrifice.... something uncomfortable, something that stretches us.
My Pastor @pgeeman preached a wordddd on this today. Life is Life! At some point, making an effort to achieve what you want is hard… and not making the required effort also delivers hard results!
As long as you’re an adult, you have to choose your hard.
So the real question is: which hard are you choosing?
