A truly intense and special celebration of the chilean culture. The music is a great mix of indigenous instruments and Black Metal elements. Their first show at Ragnarök Festival in Lichtenfels was a great experience and an incredible live perfomance for both, fans and the band. You could clearly see that they had so much fun on stage. They also played a new song called Wayra from the upcoming album.
Folkheim is a Chilean Folk Black Metal band that was born at the beginning of 2003 in the city of Antofagasta, with the sole intention of participating in a rock band contest where Folkheim obtained the award of “revelation band”. Given the good reception from the public, the band decided to move forward and participated again in 2004 in said contest, obtaining first place in the competition.
That same year they independently released their demo “Touched be thy Undisturbed Essence”. Already settled in Santiago, in 2006, and also independently, they released their EP “Pachakuti” which received good reviews from the written press. In 2012, Folkheim released the album “Mapu Ñi Tiam” and three years later a revisited version of the EP “Pachakuti” was released. In 2016 the band made its first European tour, performing in Romania, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Germany, obtaining a great reception from the public. Completely independently, in 2019 the single “Kiepja” is released and in 2024 “Y la Herida se cerró de Cansancio”, which will be part of a new album that the band is currently working on.

@folkheim erleuchteten das @ragnaroekfestival mit blauem Licht und ließen die Bühne mit schnellen Folkmetal-Sounds, gemischt mit Blackmetal-Elementen erbeben. Mit ihren tanzbaren Rhythmen und energiegeladenen Riffs luden sie die Menge, die trotz der frühen Stunde schon relativ feiermutig war, zum Headbangen und ausgelassenen Feiern ein. Auch die Musiker auf der Bühne taten dies und rissen so das Publikum mit sich. Mit einer Anreise aus Chile hatten sie einen der längsten Anreisewege des diesjährigen Ragnaröks. In Europa bekommt man sie nur selten zu sehen, umso mehr freute sich das Publikum, ihre Musik genießen zu können.
