AIDS is having its day and I think of the memorial quilts displayed this year, how everyone in that massive hall was crying and wouldn’t leave when it was time, what Sarah Schulman traced together in Gentrification Of The Mind ~ a formative read for me just after covid lockdown lifted (thinking now what *that* was giving way to), relating gentrification to supremacy ideology - a force as freakish as it is unknowing of itself that seeks comfort over all else - as cause and consequence of AIDS epidemic. This book makes a virtue of discomfort, sexual and social justice over murderous homogeneity. Highly relevant now, highly recommended 🕊️
