¡Buenas, mariposillas lectoras! 👋🏼 Cuando empecé esta novela, no sabía muy bien qué encontraría: ¿drama, amor, dolor…? Lo que descubrí fue mucho más. Un canto a la libertad de las mujeres, contado a través de la vida de Kehinde, una joven nigeriana obligada a contraer un matrimonio concertado para cuidar de su familia justo cuando estalla la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Kehinde me ha conquistado por completo. Su evolución a lo largo de la historia es maravillosa. Compartes su ilusión y sus sueños, pero también sus dudas, temores y lágrimas. Los personajes secundarios no se quedan atrás. Ama y Aya me robaron el corazón, Mama Tope me sorprendió, y Emeka y Baba Tope dejaron una huella imborrable, aunque no siempre de buenos sentimientos. La historia empieza pausada, pero capítulo a capítulo se va llenando de ritmo y tensión, atrapándote sin darte cuenta. La trama y el estilo de la autora van de la mano, con un toque íntimo y dramático que hace que el final te deje con un nudo en la garganta y una sensación de paz en el corazón.
