I was lucky enough to get to watch a sneak preview of The Housemaid movie, and I absolutely LOVED it! The second it was over, I turned to my husband in the theater and said, “Omg, I think it was better than the book!” (And he said, “Yeah.”) They captured everything that readers love about the novel! And the performances by all the actors were nothing short of incredible. It (almost) made me want to write another Housemaid book. (Almost!) The only problem is, I don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait until December to get to watch it again!

This book is classic Freida in the best way! It was fast, addictive, and laced with that sharp edge of dark humor even when the situation is absolutely dire and nothing 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 be funny. I also loved that it’s told in alternating points of view from all involved in this dubious love triangle, which adds so much tension and keeps the reader constantly reassessing what’s really happening. Naomi’s voice especially is equal parts biting and vulnerable, and it kept me fully locked in to her narrative. The emotional pressure is unrelenting, and the obsession at the heart of the story keeps tightening like a noose. Of course you can expect the classic Freida whiplash twists, and they hit hard in this book!
This was a delicious messy, twisty, and wholly addictive read. If you enjoy thrillers about revenge and the darker corners of marriage, THE DIVORCE is a fun, wicked ride that will have you either side-eyeing your spouse or breathing a sigh of relief that you're single.
