For those who appreciate concrete and a clean pour over. Currently exploring the architectural landscape of Berlin through the map and book set from @bluecrowmaps . The book covers fifty of the city's most iconic brutalist structures as wonderfully documented by @flxtrkr . The accompanying Brutalist Berlin Map makes for the perfect addition to navigate these iconic structures in person. Perfectly paired with an excellent washed Colombia from @koppi_roasters ☕️📕🏛️🗺️❤️ #boschcoffee #boschbooks #brutalistberlin #bluecrowmaps #koppiroasters

🔗 Link in Bio. #ArtPodcast #FelixTorkar #WasMitKunst © Image courtesy of Felix Torkar Podcast by Art Beats

We’re very pleased to announce Brutalist Berlin, the first title in our new series of architectural guidebooks exploring Brutalist and concrete architecture. Written and photographed by Berlin-based architectural historian Dr Felix Torkar @flxtrkr , the book documents more than fifty buildings across the city and places Berlin’s Brutalist architecture within the political and cultural context of post-war reconstruction and the Cold War. Printed on premium uncoated paper, this 144-page softcover edition is both a reference and a companion for exploring the city. Design by @_t_u_o_m_i_ 🎯 Available now at bluecrowmedia.com and in stores soon. 📍 Launch event in Berlin — 14 November, @westberlin_de at St Agnes. . . . #brutalist #brutalistarchitecture #concretearchitecture #architecturephotography #modernarchitecture #modernistarchitecture #architecturelovers #archilovers #concretedesign #beton #designbooks #bluecrowmedia #brutalistberlin #architecturestudent #archdaily @koeniggalerie @stagnes_berlin @sosbrutalism @brutbuilds @brutal_architecture @brutalismappreciation

I have been slightly obsessed with the Antikythera mechanism for a long time and it is super exciting to see it in real life. It is a 2nd century BC Greek hand-powered orrery (model of the Solar System). It could be used to predict astronomical positions and eclipses decades in advance. It could also be used to track the four-year cycle of the ancient Olympic Games.
