I believe endurance events teach some of the most important lessons. One is to have an ambitious goal in place, an effective plan set and hold yourself or be held to it. You pay the money, you commit to the date and you’ll get completely shown up if you don’t do the work. Too many of us think we are something without actually being something - this process really forces you to become. Two is trusting the process and pushing through when things hurt. People love to start things and stop as soon as there is any difficulty. But in endurance events, in the training and the race, you just have to tell yourself you won’t stop and then grin and bear it. It will be boring, it will hurt (I look like I’m having a grand time), it will confuse others who can’t/ won’t do it but it all becomes worth it on completion. When our clients sign on with us, they usually sign on for a transformation. An ambitious goal to become the best version of themselves and an investment to signal intent and be held to it. The ones who succeed stay patient, stay clear on their why and push through regardless of anything life throws at them. We do things fast with our clients but patience and persistence always beats short term gratification. Introducing super mum 🩾 Sofia is a doctor, the mum of two girls and came to me 4 months ago not seeing the changes she wanted: ‘Having gone through two pregnancies, I know what it’s like to see your body change completely and coming back from that is a whole different journey. Finding the time to train when you have kids is harder, your body doesn’t respond the same way it used to, and progress can feel slow.’ After we jumped on a call, we identified that she had the drive - she was doing HITT workouts at home, but wasn’t seeing results from them. ‘I have been working with Gabriel for the past five (now 8) months, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. Before joining, I had started going to the gym a couple of months earlier but was wondering why I wasn’t seeing any progress. I knew I wanted to push my body and get into the best shape of my life. This client, an actor, wanted to transform his physique and confidence to help him give his best to the new opportunities that were coming through. Previously, he had invested money into other ‘online coaches’. What seemed great with the flashing marketing, turned out to be a generalised PDF plan which did nothing to get the results he wanted. And that’s because in reality, there’s a lot of rubbish on the internet. Now I’m certainly not a graphic designer and don’t know much about marketing.
