I'm beyond excited to play at Honeypot Gathering this weekend. I've been unable to attend the last two due to clashing coffee commitments, and the FOMO has been reeeeal. @euphorikevents are doing God's work bringing that high production low capacity boutique vibe and I'm stoked to finally join the hive 🐝🐝 I'm kicking off the Sunday bass session with a stack of plush bassline and breakstep, and a coupl'a cheeky wubs because of course. This set will be extra special for me as it falls on my 40th birthday. If you want to join in on the festivities, we'll be hosting a long table potluck and cocktail party for Sunday lunch at the back of the dancefloor. Bring a dish and a bottle and some mixers. I just want to say a huge and heartfelt thankyou to everyone that shared, reposted, sent messages of support and checked up on me during this crazy ordeal. PUBLIC STATEMENT Incident at Grand Poobah involving Rebekah Danteen During my DJ set at Grand Poobah last night, Rebekah approached the booth and asked if we could do a short back-to-back. She mentioned finishing a set at Altar and being from Melbourne, and said she could match the current vibe. I agreed, thinking it could be fun, and stepped away briefly to use the toilet. When I returned, the genre and BPM had shifted significantly. She explained that the current track was one of her own productions (unmastered). I decided to return to 155 BPM as the dancefloor had noticeably thinned, and I informed her I did not want to continue the B2B. She disagreed with that decision and became upset. As the situation escalated and she was close to the equipment, I waved security over for assistance. There was physical contact as I needed space to make the next transition and she had ignored multiple requests to leave the booth, instead pushing in front of me and trying to interfere with the mix; I reflexively pushed her back slightly with the back of my hand; she then tripped over her bag and into the booth monitor, knocking it over. Security removed her from the booth shortly after. I returned her USB that had been left in the CDJ. Later, as I was leaving the venue, she approached me outside and continued expressing her frustration verbally. Some other patrons, who I do not know other than from seeing them dancing during my set, stepped in between us after she called me a misogynistic piece of shit and continued being physically conformational. My friend and I left the area right away, so I am not aware of what happened next, although I have been informed that the confrontation continued and escalated. I have been made aware of an allegation of assault related to the incident in the booth. After reviewing security footage, the venue has stated that I was not at fault. The footage and my set recording (which I plan to upload to Mixcloud) document what occurred during the set.
