Last week, our team visited @RuppertNurseries in Laytonsville, MD for a behind-the-scenes look at their large-scale tree cultivation and relocation operations.
We enjoyed learning about the journey our project trees take before installation—and exploring the grounds via hayride!
Thanks to the Ruppert team for sharing a beautiful spring afternoon with us!

Upgrades to Philadelphia’s Joseph F. Vogt Playground and Recreation Center are officially underway. Leaders recently gathered to break ground on the 15.8-acre site, a longtime cornerstone of the historic Tacony neighborhood.
This $8 million #RebuildPHL project will bring major upgrades to the 1965-built facility and grounds, including improved accessibility, state-of-the-art building systems, new playground equipment, landscaping, and a future walking path.
Floura Teeter is proud to lead the landscape architecture for this project and looks forward to watching it take shape over the coming months, supporting Vogt’s continued role in the community for generations to come.

No tricks here—just seriously talented Professional Landscape Architects (PLAs).
This April Fools’ Day, we’re recognizing the people behind the landscapes that we experience every day. Our PLAs bring clarity to complexity, combine creativity with precision, and shape spaces that are as intentional as they are enduring.
A fitting way to kick off World Landscape Architecture Month—and to celebrate those who make it all possible.

The Floura Teeter team recently gathered at our headquarters in Baltimore for our annual retreat. We put pencils down for the day to reflect, reconnect, and plan for the firm’s future.
Together, we revisited the past year’s successes, explored new challenges, and identified opportunities for growth in 2026 and beyond. Every voice was heard, Zach’s vegan carrot cake was devoured, and we even picked up some tips from Gabby on posing for the group photo.
More than anything, the day was a reminder that our strength comes from a shared commitment to doing meaningful work—and supporting one another along the way.

Floura Teeter partnered with ae7 to transform the third-floor rooftop terrace of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center into an outdoor respite in the heart of Pittsburgh. Spanning 9,000 square feet and overlooking the Allegheny River, the project reclaims an underutilized rooftop as a dynamic social amenity for conference guests.
Prompted by the need to repair failing waterproofing, the redesign strengthens the Center’s commitment to environmental stewardship, complementing its distinction as the first convention center to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Native plantings soften the terrace and frame sweeping views of Pittsburgh’s skyline and iconic bridges.
Designed for flexibility, the revitalized terrace expands the Center’s breakout and gathering spaces. Integrated seating within garden planters and year-round greenery—visible through the glass atrium—extend the landscape experience into the building’s interior while creating a welcoming place for visitors to gather, relax, and connect.
