CAGED BIRD

A free bird leaps on the back of the wind
Floats downstream till the current ends
And dips his wing in the orange sun rays
And dares to claim the sky.
But a bird that stalks his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom
The free bird thinks of another breeze and
The trade winds soft through the sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn
And he names the sky his own.
But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
As he opens his throat to sing.

Let them keep what they took from you.
If you gave them love and they walked away, let them keep it.
If you gave them time and they walked away, let them keep the memories.
If you gave them days, weeks and years of your life, let them keep all the love you gave them during that time.
Don't fight back for it. Don't say "You owe me". Understand that the value of your love does not depend on what others do with that love.
Let them keep what they took. They must have needed it. It must have impacted their lives. You can't take that away. How beautiful is that?
Even though they gave you pain in return for your love, you still left them with love.

A visit to the @aamirkhanproductions office last evening for the party, I was honoured to ogle at all the wall displays, including the original bat used by him in the film @lagaan_2001 . What an experience
I was thrilled and excited beyond words on being invited to a party hosted by Aamir Khan, post screening of #dadikishaadi.
I knew that I would be meeting Aamir Khan at the party, but what ensued after the meeting was beyond my imagination, something that I didn’t dream of in my wildest moments.
Aamir sang serenading me and I danced to his tune.
