A little round up of 2025, which saw some hugely happy times (Rosie & Harry’s beautiful wedding and celebrating Carrie’s 60th in Yorkshire), but was also by far my toughest year so far. I’m not usually one for a long caption but I think it might justify my year of being antisocial and lack of capacity for anything beyond health and work!
Carrie overcame two back to back cancer diagnoses, with months of hideous chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, and James & I continued our IVF journey. IVF and cancer are not comparable, but Carrie and I found a strange number of parallels in our treatments and the timings always seemed to overlap. Carrie is truly a superstar and I have so much admiration for her and my dad for braving it all and managing to be so positive throughout. I’m sending huge love to anyone going through either and trying to crack on with life at the same time, it’s bloody hard! ✨
In amongst the months of needles, medication, procedures and hospital appointments, it’s nice to look back and see there were lots of happy times with the most supportive people I could wish for. I’m hopeful and optimistic that 2026 will be a brilliant year, even if we are starting it off with a few more challenges first ❤️
