A month today we’ll be heading west to play at the small but perfectly formed Fishguard Folk Festival in beautiful Pembrokeshire. There’s so much great music all over the town all weekend. What a lovely place to spend the long Spring Bank Holiday weekend.
This is very likely to be our only Welsh gig in 2026 so grab your tickets and come along if you can 🧡🏴

Glorious Tatihou! Perhaps the only gig anywhere in the world where the audience have to walk accross a tidal causeway to get there and then be sure to leave promptly after the show or risk getting stranded on the island. And one of very few gigs in 30 years where Sarah has persuaded the others to join her for a sunset swim. We’re very happy to be heading back to Les Traversées Tatihou on Thursday 13th August 🧡☀️

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of René Goiffon last weekend. A huge champion of world music, René was the only record company mogul to whom Flook ever trusted their recordings; we licensed both Rubai and Haven to his World Village label for our North American sales. He was charming, funny and tireless in his pursuit of fine music, setting up World Village, a subsidiary of Harmonia Mundi, to give world music a wider platform. We loved René’s company and kept in touch with him regularly over the past 20 years, though we didn’t manage to meet him in person in recent years. Our abiding memory of René, and one of our best ever Flook anecdotes, is when he introduced us onto the stage for the North American launch of Rubai at Ulysses in New York. He gave a lengthy speech, listing all our many good qualities and ending with the words “Ladies and Gentlemen…. please welcome to the stage… Kila!” It was very hard to stop laughing and start playing after that. But we have always loved him all the more for it. Rest in peace, René ♥️
