Throwback Thursday āš¾To all my Lockers ā I say this with love and respect for the culture. Take a moment to really study the originals. Watch how they stop when they lock. That moment, that control, that intention⦠thatās the heart of Locking.
Just like ballet, jazz, and other dance styles have strong foundations you have to learn and honor, Locking is no different. The foundation matters. Itās what gives the dance its identity and its feeling.
If we lose the lock, we lose the essence. And this isnāt about calling anyone out ā itās about lifting the standard and preserving something beautiful that was passed down to us.
My teacher Greg always said: respect the foundation. And Don āCampbellock himself said, āLearn my dance and make it yours.ā That means knowing where it starts.
Locking is about locking your body⦠and making it feel good, making it sexy, making it you.
Letās keep growing, learning, and honoring the dance the right way. āš¾š The original lockers šš¾ #doncampbellock

Highlights of the legendary B-Boy Flo Master (@flomaster73 ) from the Team Shaolin vs. Hip Hop Elements Special Exhibition Battle at B-boy Master Pro-am held in Miami in 1999.
In my opinion, 1999 was the period when Flo Master reached his peak level. After his time with Rock Steady Crew, he began building a more independent career around 1997, and from that point on, his style continued to evolve with even more clarity and identity.
Flo Master is one of those rare figures who fully embodied his own character within breaking. His dance went beyond simply having a style. It became a clear example of how a B-Boy can create his own world through movement.
If anyone needs an explanation of what ācharacterā means within the dance of breaking, they should look into the history of Flo Master.
He proved that character is not just an image. It is something completed through personality, attitude, rhythm, body language, and the unique presence a dancer brings to the floor.

This kind of thing only happens at @lbjackrabbitboxing . A person there mentioned that we should stop dancing once weāre over 50. But I still keep my mobility strong, and I feel great at 53. Do you agree with himāshould we stop or should we keep going? #DancingAfter50 #AgelessMovement #MobilityMatters #NeverTooOld #JackrabbitMoves
āI know when I hit the floor, I shift shapesāLocking, House, B-Boy, MJābut donāt get it twisted. Dance is a part of me, not all of me. Just like Michael said, to change the world, it starts with the man in the mirror. And for me, thatās Jerry Wayne Randolph. I hope you see past the moves and know that Iām always striving to be more, to be better, starting with me.ā
āOne more thingā @erniereyesjr ., thank you for always being a true friend, my brother. You are the real Last Dragon. šā

Fun Fact Friday: I often get asked what sparked my love for martial arts, and it all started with @erniereyesjr . I began training in Taekwondo, but as I went along, I realized Ernie was actually doing karate. Even though our paths were different, he was the one who set my journey in motion. And Jackie Chan, he helped me bring that dance flair into what I do. I just want to give Ernie some love todayāhe was the reason I became a martial artist, and Iām forever thankful.Of course!
