Another day, another marshals' recce ride. It's almost time for another Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. There's a link in my bio, but don't feel you have to sponsor me or anything.

What a busy, wonderful last few days these have been! First off to London to stay with Alex and Stef on their canal boat. A scorcher of a day for the ride and the roads were monster busy. Main holiday season makes the difference. But no worries I was on Libby, and seeing this part of the world at a slower pace, so smiling. Next day, Alex and I trawled across London to The Bike Shed. I’m saying trawled because the days temps rose to 30C+ and there were roadworks all over the place. Several with 3 lanes going down into 1! Of course, with Libby being a ‘fat bottomed girl’ when loaded up, there’s no way she was up for filtering! Murphy’s law said that these were all narrow lanes too. Alex, bless him, was very patient with us! It was fascinating to ride through London. More so because Alex was acting as tour guide as we rode. Both of us having Cardos made the difference. Not only was there a lot to see, but learning the rules of where you can ride in bus lanes and so on was great. As for The Bike Shed, this was my first visit. When I’m in the area I always seem to be on the dash to meet a deadline, so have belted on past. Silly bloke for not getting there before!! What a super place. Loved the ambience, the smiles from the staff, the layout and design, and the food was great. I also had the chance to meet Dutch, one of the owners. I, as so many people do, liked him straight away. On a Tuesday it wasn’t very busy by the time we finally got there. Mid afternoon. But that was a bonus. There were still plenty of café racer and classic bikes to look at and also some ADV bikes, which included a couple of guys from France on their GSs. Let’s put it this way, I won’t take so long to go back again. Next stop after London? Chelmsford to do a presentation for the IAM group CaDam. That, is another story! #motorcycles #motorcycle #motorcyclesofinstagram #london #cafe #thebikeshedlondon @floatie.boatie #cardosystems

Late to the party, @tefi_the_water_gipsy and I joined the @marksandspencer strawberry sandwich craze. Oh, were they good, so good.
