SONGWRITING WORKSHOP
We will also be holding a songwriting workshop in the afternoon before the gig. The intention of the workshop being to spark creativity through authentic encounter with other songwriters in a supportive group environment.
We might explore: unblocking creativity, contacting inner experience, radical honesty, symbolism, painting with words, etc.
Feel free to bring a song you are working on or a song that you’re proud of. There will be time for sharing, but absolutely no pressure or obligation to do so- it is completely up to you!
With a general focus on 'indie/alt folk' / adjacent genres. For fans of Adrianne Lenker. Open to all !!

April has two Sonic Masala shows lined up for you! Friday April 17 at JT Soar is London-based drone-jangle-pop collective The Leaf Library coming up to belatedly launch their new album After The Rain, Strange Seeds, alongside Oxford trio iiis and local rising star Flöat. Then Wednesday April 22 Canadian improv no wavers EarthBall (whose 2nd album Outside Over There came #2 in last year’s The Quietus AOTY) are back, this time at The Old Bus Depot, with KOGUMAZA and Either/Or tying up loose ends. After plying our trade for a while on the notts scene we’ve finally got an album ready to release upon the world.
We wouldn’t be in this position without @cam_worne and the amazing people at @thegrovenotts - and that’s where we’re going to celebrate its release. It’s the vernal equinox, when everything is in balance. And it’s a saturday night.
Excitingly, we’ll be joined by the sensational @floatbandfloat and also the literary mover and shaker and troubadour @andrewtuckerleavis

2025 ! it's been a long year but a growthful year . i feel really lucky to have got involved in other projects too
idk, right now i have absolutely no idea where im going next as a person or as a songwriter and that feels kind of terrifying but also exciting too i guess🤷🏻
