Months ago, my 6-year-old handed me a note that sent my heart into a spiral and cracked open something inside of me. Today, that story is out in the world thanks to the best editor, @noahmichelson . This piece is one of the more vulnerable essays I’ve written — but it feels like that’s the place I like writing from the most.
The essay is about generational emotional inheritance and how our kids absorb not just our words, but our silences, our histories, and the feelings we think we’ve tucked away. 2016. Did I do this trend right? I got engaged and married in 2016 and I met Tim Riggins so it was a pretty awesome year as far as years go. I also spent some solid time with friends and music and loved ones especially my grandmother. Damn, I miss my grandmother. But she came Austin for my wedding and that will always be special!! Let’s go 2026!!!!!
