Growing up in a cosy village near London, Rebecca pursued her passion for Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southampton. Her career path? Nothing short of thrilling!
After graduating, she headed to Oxford to work for a small R&D company that stemmed from Indy car and F1 development, focusing on applying CFD and simulations to commercial applications. She then ventured into a startup from the University of Oxford, concentrating on applying microfluidic techniques to biotech automation applications. Throughout her journey, Rebecca has worn many hats, turning innovative concepts into real products.
But there's more to Rebecca than her impressive career. She's a dedicated West Ham United fan and spends most of her free time at Tempelhofer Feld playing baseball or softball with the @berlinskylarks

Another exciting day in the “office” for our Malaysia team installing a FLUXUS H721 on a 16” multiproduct pipeline that transports gasoline, diesel, and Jet A1 from the local refinery to one of the major airports in the region! Our meters use intelligent analytics to report measured density and volume flow, minimize product losses (phase mixing), and improve batch control.
Did you know that nearly 2/3 of the global pipeline system carries high volumes of crude oil or refined products from supply sources to industry-owned distribution centers near market areas near you? This fact may not be surprising as pipeline transportation is the most reliable and cost-effective way to move large quantities of products over long distances. But how do operators ensure product quality is maintained when scheduling different products over multiproduct pipelines? How do they minimize product mixing and reduce off-spec/ waste products? Although several techniques can be used, such as pigging the line between batches or using pressure and density calculations to identify changes in product quality, these are often inaccurate or logistical nightmares. What is the biggest pain point Latin American refineries face in balancing flows? Well, lack of instrumentation to compare and confirm volumes coming in and leaving the refinery on a daily basis. LACT units and metering skids are used at delivery and receiving points in the process from the main feed lines and final product stages, but how can refiners validate they are indeed given the right amounts and right product characteristics if they have no metering available and can’t shut down the process to add metering points? They call us on-site to clamp on our portable clamp-on flow meters in crude oil and refined product flow lines to measure and report temperature compensated flows!
Last week, we were at a plant in the city of Minatitlan, Mexico running feasibility tests with our FLUXUS F608 on a 24” flow line that carries Maya Crude Oil into the refinery with a wide range of API (between 18 and 42) to showcase the performance of our technology in these very complex application and determine the suitability of our FLUXUS H721 meter which can be installed here to monitor this line and report temperature compensated flows. The WD Series does not require any work that affects the integrity of the pipe. The versatile and portable FLUXUS G608 Fuel Oil (HFO)
Being equipped with two flow channels, RTD Inputs and an integrated data logger with a serial interface, the portable gas flow meter is designed for direct usage in demanding environments, such as in the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream area as well as in the processing industries and the energy sector.
As known from all FLEXIM flow meters, also the G608 features a highly precise bi-directional measurement at fast and even very slow gas flow rates over a wide dynamic measurement and pressure range and is not prone to temperature and zero drift, being fully compliant to ANSI/ASME regulations.
