✈️ This August and September, our newest FLEX finalists from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia took off to begin their exchange year in the United States!
They’ll spend a full academic year living with host families, attending American high schools, and sharing their own cultures while experiencing life in the U.S.

How to apply for FLEX 🇺🇸✨
1️⃣ Go to ais.americancouncils.org/flex
2️⃣ Create your account on AIS and start filling out the application.
3️⃣ Once you start, you have 5 days to complete and submit it.
4️⃣ The final deadline is September 23, 2025.
Selection process: • Round 1: Online application (short essays, basic info, school grades, a photo, and passport copy). • Round 2: Online English test. After submitting Round 1, all students get a link by email. The test must be completed within 24 hours. • Round 3: In October/November, Semi-finalists will be invited for interviews-person interviews, on-site essays, and asked to complete a more detailed application form.
Finalists are chosen in spring and travel to the U.S. in August/September.

On October 20th, FLEX Lithuania participant Monika had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the World Link Kindness Cookies project and represent Lithuania! With the incredible support of her host mom and Girl Scout Troop, they did an amazing job baking and decorating cookies filled with love and appreciation.
They delivered the cookies to neighbors, local firemen, and friends as a gesture of gratitude in her community. Monika personally delivered some to her school teachers during teacher conference week, and received so many compliments from both the teachers and the principal!
This project was a beautiful reminder of the impact kindness can have. Even a small gesture, like a cookie, can brighten someone’s day and build stronger connections within the community.
