Let’s start our treasure hunt 🏴☠️
Legend has it that real-life pirate Captain William Kidd buried treasure on Charles Island, just off the Milford shoreline. Nobody’s found it yet. But we’d argue the real treasure is right on the green. 🗺️
📚
@mermaidbooksct is a women-owned indie bookstore named after that legend and the second you walk in you feel it. We left with an Abigail Jimenez copy so beautiful it’s basically a shelf trophy and Mychal Threet’s kids book, because if you know you know.
🪴Right next door is
@fleurescent , a whimsical plant shop that will absolutely rearrange your relationship with houseplants. I talked to one of the workers about how the owner keeps plants in her shower. I moved one of mine in that same day. Zero regrets. 🌸
☕️🍨We fueled up at
@scratchbakingct right on the green, coffee and lemonade, both excellent, then made the drive to
@walnutbeachcreamery because that’s just the law in Milford.
Women-owned, community-rooted, and full of people who actually care about what they’ve built. This is the kind of afternoon that doesn’t cost much and gives you everything.
Milford’s 24th Annual Pirate Day is June 7th and we already know where we’re starting. 🏴☠️
Save this for your next Milford day 📌 and drop a 🗺️ below if you’re adding this to your list.
