cheers to the flower you become and still becoming
cheers to…
I don’t know what life has in store for her, but I know, calla lilies are her favourite flowers ✨

In between, we pass on, we tell, we share.”

Dites à ces messieurs c’est bien prétentieux
d’apprendre la vie à celles qui la donnent, Imany

Et s’ils te demandent c’que ta foi représente
Réponds simplement que Dieu est grande, Imany

📁 Archival exploration: 1996.
Currently preparing a styling and I wanted to explore the year 1996.
At the time, Effortless Minimalism was at its peak, alongside the “Ugly Chic” concept popularized by Vogue, referencing Prada’s Spring/Summer 1996 collection. The styling was defined by a lack of heavy accessorizing, letting the nobility of the materials and new color palettes speak for themselves.
While ‘outsiders’ like McQueen, Yohji or Gaultier were redefining silhouettes, Africa was also making history. 1996 marked the conceptual birth of the South African Fashion Week, the continent’s first structured platform.
Having a double culture, I had to look at what was simultaneously happening on the continent.
Today, we often mistake visual saturation for styling. We think if there aren’t 25 layers or endless accessories, the work is “too simple.” But building simplicity can be a complex exercise.
At Caprices, we go beyond image-making. We conceptualise, shape and narrate them with intent and purpose. Our approach is refined, daring and collaborative.
Shall we begin ?
