Privileged to DP 2nd Unit from Nick Rowland’s recently released She Rides Shotgun. The car chase which we shot over 2 nights. We had 3 Dodge Chargers, Hero, Stunt and Rigging. Crafting the puzzle of rigging cameras to rigging car, whilst the Hero or stunt is out with the arm car allowed us to always keep shooting. We had 4 Sony Venice cameras, one of them in Rialto mode. Set up on Canon K35’s by the show’s main DP Wyatt Garfield. The sequence itself was designed and directed by Robert Alonso. Couple weeks of prep to go from overheads, storyboards to full daytime rehearsals at a racetrack with our talented stunt drivers. The interior shots with the talent was done virtual production with an array plate we shot after each “beat” of the chase on the nights. The array was shot with Panasonic GH7 cameras. The last 2 slides is the shootout sequence 2nd unit helped cover from the movie. Shoutout to Key Grip Andy Simmons for his great work planning and rigging the array and the hard mounts onto the rigging car. Also to the great Albuquerque crew we were lucky to have.
