They say behind every overnight success, is a decade of work nobody saw. Hundreds of days spent working hard in silence with blood, sweat, and tears. Because discipline will take you places motivation never can.  Wishing my brother @marcusjonesocho best of luck today, on your legendary quest to Championship. Huge shout to @houstonchron for sharing our brand story & humble beginnings. Starting a brand from scratch hasn't been an easy task, and there have been a ton of hardships and challenges along the way. But what it has been is exciting, rewarding, and extremely fulfilling. We started this brand over a decade ago, to serve as a beacon of light to Gentlemen across borders, and as a platform to foster community and inspire us all, and to strive to become the very best version of ourselves. Because life is not about the hand that we're dealt...but what we choose to make of it. #AspireToInspire. 🎯 Written by @amberjelliott ✍🏾 #SmallBusiness #HTX #Menswear

I never really knew or understood what it meant to have survivor’s guilt. But in the past few weeks, I’ve seen so many body bags of children, that I’ve been privileged to experience what I’d call a mix of survivor + parental guilt. Why do my children still get to run around and play? Why do I get to see their beautiful radiant faces every morning? They would fit perfectly into those little body bags. How are their bodies still together in one piece? My biggest fear has always been losing my spouse, or one or both of my children. This is the one tragedy in life I know I will never be able to overcome. And it's been a rude awakening to see that every single morning, a father, a mother, or a child is experiencing these darkest moments. To make matters worse, it can, it will, and is happening not by nature, but by brute, deliberate and intentional force. I’ve had a few close friends & family reach out to me, regarding a few of the posts I’ve made on the topic, advising that I consider treading with caution to avoid backlash. And while I appreciate the concern, the way I see it, as a man there MUST be a place you draw the line…and some things are just worth dying for. And for me…that ‘line’ is the death of innocent children. Because as a black man in this universe or should I say America, I’m not in a position of privilege nor arrogant enough to believe…that this couldn’t happen to my family. And despite living in the digital age of free-flowing information and media, should that dreadful day come, it WILL be publically justified, and the world will be too busy, too distracted or uninterested to show concern. And if there’s not a care that it’s happening NOW, I’d be foolish to believe that there’ll be one when it happens in the future. Time and time again, we are reminded that all lives are not equal. That celebrities & the influential aren’t actually leaders nor worthy of idolation. And that leaders often don’t have our best interests at heart. It really isn't a difficult or ‘complicated’ decision, nor topic of debate. I choose to be LOUD for the Children of Gaza, because tomorrow, it could very well be my children…or yours. So maybe you should too.
